Just wanted to let y'all know that there's a new Technical Service Bulletin for the transmission that came out this month, TSB 25-2024, that basically goes straight to the CDF Clutch Cylinder replacement on pre 08/15/22 transmissions. I took mine in with the usual issues, they did the trans reprogram, which didn't change anything, and made another appointment for the next step. I took the truck back in a few weeks later with TSB 24-2046 in hand, fully expecting them to overhaul the main control valve body, and they showed me the updated TSB so I take it back for the rebuild next week.

Google search isn’t showing anything yet. Hopefully something pops up soon so we can read and absorb. 24-2046 was replaced by 24-2101 a while ago. Sounds like 25-2024 is superseding it.

Found it . Can’t copy it yet but here’s the link.
https://www.ford.com/support/service-information/

Either put your vin in or year /model info. It’s the first TSB that comes up.
Looks like they’ve developed an extensive testing procedure to confirm CDF issue. Also missing now is the verbiage about replacing the transmission under LTIS

Thanks for sharing the update! Hope you have a smooth experience with getting it fixed.

Well, this at least confirms that Ford Enginering determined the CDF Drum is the root cause vs Band Aid fixes, and this also should confirm my Build Date of Aug 16, 2022, has the newer version of the CDF Drum.
So, I have at least a blessing my build was delayed

Thankfully they give a DETAILED way of testing, and one could do this at home with a Scan Tool and some added gauges (I need to review) in depth on this for a possible tooling setup (Harbor Freight) where one could perform this test at home.

So, my guess is that they found consistent returns for the issue and found that the CDF Drum replacement is the final solution.

Here it is in PDF Format

This really only applies to those with warranty’s correct. It’s a huge advertisement to anyone who can still buy an extended warranty to get one quick. Sadly I’m passed that point.

I'll be dropping mine off (again) next week.

Twice now I've had it do nothing for a few seconds when shifted into Reverse, then BAM.

Maybe they'll do something other than flash the PCM this time.

One of the interesting details is that some of the tools needed for the test are no longer available from Ford-Rotunda, discontinued in July of 2023 and they estimate only 80% of dealers have the tool needed, so you may need to hunt around for a dealer willing to admit they have the tools to do the job.

Also interesting is that the latest TSB is exclusive to the Ranger. Unlike the previous one which included F150, Explorer and Mustang.

Could be that they are adding more targeted TSBs at this point for each model with test value as seen, perhaps the weight/rearend gear ratios have an impact on the measured values, or the access to the testing location are different enough between the models that there may now be 4 TSBs replacing the previously more generic TSB.

Just checked on the others and they’re all still included the same TSB which is now 24-2436. I remembered that the Ranger has fewer clutches in some of the stacks and the test procedures/repairs may be different than the rest of the vehicles

Look into the USED Ford ESP plans through Zeiger/Flood/etc. They'll probably require an inspection by a dealer. That's what I did. It was an easy choice to make the investment considering the 10R80 issues. Of course, everyone's situation is different.
