You'd do well to do an early fluid change and then one at about 30k. Get any new build debris out of it.

Of course, and my standard Lubegard recommendation. I am under no delusion they've actually solved their valve body problems, even though they are fixing the shells and CDF bushings.
How much Lubegard did you put in?

1oz per quart of system capacity.....which is around 12 quarts. Usually I just recommend a 10oz bottle to start with and then 1oz per quart when you change fluid. Just easier that way since it comes in a 10oz (or 15/32oz) bottle.

Will Ford do anything if you aren't having trans issues but want the updated cdf drum? I have a 2019 xlt with 51k and an extended warranty

Sure

If you pay them.

They're not going to spend money to tear into a functioning trans.

So you’re saying that you have zero issues( even the slightest hint) with the following?
Harsh engagement
Delayed engagement
Harsh shifts

I'm sure there are tens of thousands of us that have none of those issues.
Yet.
I'm one of them.
So far ?

If I wasn’t aware of the issues I would have just kept driving mine. It never caused any major issues. But yet I ended up with a new transmission. It’s never since day one driven as smooth as it does now. So there’s probably tens of thousands of people driving them thinking that that minor quirk is ok or normal. That’s why I ask the question.

When new it was skipping gears and a bit clunky. Dealer changed the valve body and reprogrammed. That was at about 3500 miles
Been fine ever since. I have fluid changed at 30k and will have it done at 60k

zFitz stick. Look for MBS (Mike Builds Stuff). Aftermarket (technically) Probably better than if it were stamped FoMoCo. Looks like it was supposed to be there. Its here on this website. I can't get to it right now. I have seen it done both ways. Easiest for the shade tree mechanic is to dump it from the pan. There is no drain.

that's only a temporary fix. honestly keep an eye on it and get them to replace the transmission at the slightest hint of harsh engagement

I don’t know how Ford has profited at all off the manufacturing of these crappy trucks. Repair after repair when it comes to transmissions across the board it’s amazing.
there warranty repairs have been a huge drag on profits.

BUT, just once, i shifted into drive and the truck would not move. restarted, then turned the corner and it went into neutral again BUT this time I got the engine wrench light. restarted and light went away. took to a good mechanic and he cant find any codes. ford charges $150 to do a diagnostic then keeps it for 2 days.

I would look at the - Selector Cable & Transmission Range Sensor, more likely the selector cable slightly out of adjustment.
If it does it again - instead of restarting - Rock, the (Selector) back and forth (In-Drive) or try the rocking in (Drive) to see if you can duplicate the issue.
