I had some weird shifting when I bought the truck used 2 years ago. I had to talk the dealer into checking my trans fluid level because I had read here some came low from the factory. It was a quart low and the weird shifting disappeared. $301 to check and top off something they should have done at the factory.
I used to have occasional wonky shifts. After installing my FitzStick, I discovered my level was down 3/4 qt from the factory. Bought a quart of Mercon ULV from a dealer, corrected the level, shifts have been mostly good with a very occasional downshift clunk. I drive mostly in Tow-Haul mode.

They will most likely follow the TSB 24-2101 steps.
1st is reflash the software
2nd is clean/replace the valve body
3rd is replace CDF drum or replace transmission under the LTIS ( low time in service) policy.

What’s your build date?
I think it was a Feb/March 2022 build IRC

Mine was an early March 2022 build. They put a new transmission in it at around 18K miles. This was after they did the initial steps of the TSB

I would do this but I am in warranty. not giving ford any reason to deny warranty claim

From my point of view, the ranger(s) need some down time.

Get the ranges some free time and sugest some beer or two and titty bar. That will straightem out. In exceptional cases, few weeks leave on sunny beach will do the recovery. Thailand and lady boys should be extremely discouraged.

I don’t know how Ford has profited at all off the manufacturing of these crappy trucks. Repair after repair when it comes to transmissions across the board it’s amazing.

They should have installed a proper dipstick, the first thing you need to eliminate is proper fill.

Well after a bit of drama the truck did its thing and they went straight threw all the steps. New Transmission has been ordered but no ETA yet. I am driving it till they tell me the trans come in and then I will drop it off.

Did they offer the new transmission or did you have push them?

Drive it extra hard and break it all the way make Ford spend their own money to fix their crap.

well good news. new transmission came in within a week. they had the truck for about a day and a half. drives like the day I got it again even when cold. Tech in his notes mentioned the transmission fluid was very discolored. Very impressed with the service. Let's hope I can put trans issue premently. Let's see how long this one lasts.

You'd do well to do an early fluid change and then one at about 30k. Get any new build debris out of it.

Of course, and my standard Lubegard recommendation. I am under no delusion they've actually solved their valve body problems, even though they are fixing the shells and CDF bushings.
