I have an alias face book account but never really use it. It sucks that even with an alias I get tons of friend requests. Personally I think it's an invasion of my privacy!!!!!!!!

I had Facebook and Instagram for my business so I could point people to photos of my projects and to hopefully get some leads on new jobs - turns out I was too busy with word of mouth contracts to maintain them. ? Got rid of them both and I didn’t die.So good to see I'm not the only person who has avoided Fecesbook.![]()
I never need it when I was back in MA because I was well established for just under 30 years there. When I moved to AZ almost every one of my customers told me I needed to get on Facebook to grow my business there. It took me less than 18 months and I was busier than I wanted to be from just word of mouth. The whole purpose of moving there was to semi retire anyways. lolI had Facebook and Instagram for my business so I could point people to photos of my projects and to hopefully get some leads on new jobs - turns out I was too busy with word of mouth contracts to maintain them. ? Yeah, a lot people think the more FB friends you have, the more important you are. So they try to friend every Tom, Dick and Harry. Annoying.I have an alias face book account but never really use it. I use Facebook for the marketplace, but I don't have an account.
I use my wife's account.
That means that if I click on a link it will appear in her history/feed and that could truly haunt me.

I've never ever advertised and always had great customers and builders this way. One old timer gave me some great advice when I was first starting out. He said "a bad reputation gets. around faster than a good one and just be patient and let your work speak for itself". He was right and as you know there's a lot of hacks in our industry but I've always stood my ground with my prices.
