Hey all. I few months ago I tackled a project of dying my headliner black aswell as an abundance of trim pieces within the cab. Everything went well!

Except one thing. For the past few months I’ve been driving around getting the warning “Pre Collision Not Available” “System Fault” This is likely a result of something that I did while working on the headliner.

My question is though, WHAT is wrong?? I’ve checked all wire connections, there only seems to be one connection up in the headliner that goes to the front facing windshield camera. Could a fuse be blown for it? Where would that be located? I checked the manual and all.

I’m just hesitant to take it to Ford because likely this is a self induced problem, and just the fact that I like to fix things by myself. If anyone could shed some light on this let me know. Tonight I spent 5 hours taking the headliner back apart and no wires were messed up. I’m at my breaking point trying to figure this out and something is going to go flying across the garage.

I would scan for codes and also do a Self-Test (Reset) on the following modules and clear the codes.
IPMA & CCM - Important to do this since you had the power off the modules for an extended amount of time, and if driven or started while disconnected may have induced faults in the modules.

The IPMA (Windshield Camera) ties into the CCM (Cruise Cont Module) for the Front Collision Warning since you had the connectors disconnected in that area double check and ensure you did not damage or push any contact pins back when (reconnecting) at both the IPMA module and the main connector that I believe you disconnected to get the headliner down (this is the separation point of the main truck harness) at the rear view mirror.

So, I would inspect all harness disconnects that feed up to the IPMA that was disturbed coming up the driver's side A-Pillar and across to the mirror connector

As far as a Fuse - For the IPMA & CCM its Fuse #23 in the BJB but that fuse ties into other things that you would notice - like the 4WD Switch, Rear Camera & the BLIS Modules so I doubt its blown.

If you are not seeing any codes, you may try a Re-Calibration of the CCM, once the calibration is started the Scan Tool will walk you through the process and this requires a 20-minute drive above 30 mph with the calibration initiated or similar time and speed dependent period.
I believe it’s the same procedure for the IPMA if needed, but both of these should set a specific code for not calibrated.

Did you pull the passenger side (Kick Panel)?
If yes you may have hit the connector C211 with the locking clip on the panel as you slid it back on.
This connector feeds C913

C913 = Power Feed (Only)
This is the Driver's side A-Pillar connector about dash level

C903 = Can Bus Communication to the ABS & CCM (From / To the IPMA)

C903 & C913 Feeds the C919 Connector

Here is a diagram of the area behind the rear-view mirror:
C919 is the main connector

So, the above is all the associated wiring that would / could have been touched for your mod

When I had my windshield resealed for a recall they had to unhook the IPMA (camera) which generated a fault code and disabled the system because the IPMA needs to be re-calibrated.

If you have Forscan you can do this on your own or you will need to take it in have it done.
Its simple to do as long as you have a long straight road with the painted lines on it. You will need to get the free trial or pay the year service $12.00 for the programing option on Forscan.

Everything seems to be connected properly and alright. Going to run for codes this morning.

Those mobile auto glass guys have to reset those when they replace the windshield, if you happen to know any, or can flag one down by waving cash...

Awesome, chalk it up to lessen learned - always attempt a code scan before you tear things apart as I am sure it coded something about (NOT-Configured)
Then if that is a bust, start with the retrace of (what could it be - connectors)
But the bright side is, you are now proficient in headliner removal & install:)

If this damn recalibration doesn’t work I’ll just say screw it and live with it ? I ain’t taking it apart again.
