We have the cast iron press and sometimes grind our own Wapsie corn and flour to make them fresh also. Just too big a mess for a couple so we don't do it often.
Great tip on Salvation Army and Goodwill - I go looking for tools a few times a year and now will look for this pan! =)

I went and looked at an awesome YouTube channel for a pretty great guy that can do some of pretty much anything. No taco salad shell maker videos but I did salivate at the dump possibilities with a nifty rake grapple he has! =D

Thanks! =)

I have a brand new grapple, you have a dump. Reminds me of this song

Annie makes homemade tortillas (when she has the time) and we make our tacos with those. There's nothing like warm homemade tortillas that don't shatter all over the place while eating them.

Now when we go out to eat I'll get the hard shells because I'm spoiled with her homemade soft tortillas. Also most of the boxed ones you buy are made with cheap ingredients and will fall apart. If you go to a good Mexican restaurant it's rare you'll have this problem.
Yup yup yup ..

I did some traditional finnish cuisine from the 40s shortage period. Got the recipe from my grandmother ages ago.

Ingredients:
- 300g rye bread, cut to 1x1cm pieces (hard crust is best)
- 100g butter
- 1cl water (or milk)

Instructions:
1. Heat the butter
2. Fry the rye bread pieces to crisp (some black burn marks are good)
3. Pour and stir in the water
4. Eat

If you're rich land owner bastard, you can add 100g of bacon when frying (I did).

P.S. It's really good :)

We tried ground turkey for tonight's Taco Tuesday and it worked. Of course, Kate adds half a jar of Tostito's Salsa del Queso and some Pace Picante Salsa to the pan, so you probably couldn't tell beef from chicken from shoe leather! =p

But it's as yummy as it’s not-the-healthiest way to make the meat. =D

iced tea, fresh-made guac, and a zillion vitamins (including 3 Advil for the old and achy joints)

Since I got not car at the moment, I've spend the day preparing & eating food.

Today's menu.
  • Breakfast: Chocolate Cake & Coffee
  • Brunch: Warm bread with cheese, bacon, egg and fresh vegetables
  • Lunch: Pork chops on vegetable bed and potatoes on side
  • In-between: Coffee & Home made Sub
  • Dinner: Blackened fish (salmon) with flavoured oven baked potatoes
Just wondering what to make for the evening..

Usually when I have a working car :)

Ranger is still in shop. Shop got some new info from Ford to fix it. Something about cylinders, pistons, air intake and all. So sounds to me that they don't know yet why it does not go when you press go.

Dinner was from Uber Eats but dessert is strictly homemade…

Before we placed the order, I was busy in the kitchen with some apples, pears, and cranberries. Homemade crumble with some vanilla ice cream is always good, especially when it’s warm.

These were in the oven baking while we waited and had our dinner. One of these will get frozen to enjoy another day.

UPDATE: Yeah, it was really, really good? ?

It’s that darn big upright freezer in the garage at my new place - I turned off the door alarm and now whenever I leave it open and forget to close it, a polar vortex forms.

Poor @AzScorpion woke up to snow because of it. ?

I wouldn’t mind a couple of inches of snow. As long as I don’t have to drive anywhere.?
