Installed new front brakes today. Napa Premium. The Ford OE lasted less than 46k kms or 28k miles.

Also added winter tires and rims. Looks like a work truck now. :)

Haha free would be nice but I did ok for under $500. They aren't even needed much around here but at that price I extend the life of my Michelin LTX tires.

I'm so glad I live in a place where I don't have to keep two sets of tyres, and my trucks usually wear out before they rust out!
We have very mild/moderate winters here on the East Coast. I picked these up for pretty cheap and it extends my Michelin LTX life. The truck will likely rust out though. :)

It happened Friday but got my transmission fluid and filter changed along with oil change and tire rotation. ?
Roughly how much was that? I think I have that in my future next month at 40K mile oil change.

They replaced the filter as well and cost $560.
A bit pricey perhaps but they check everything and even document with pictures.
My fluid was dark but not burnt. The shop (no dealership for me!) on the previous oil change mentioned that “these transmissions are great but need to be maintained very carefully.”
With the issues I hear from other owners I wanted to over maintain my truck. ?

I imagine that what a Canadian considers "mild" would probably kill me. I was in Iceland earlier this year and there was still plenty of snow on the ground in July. People were running around in shorts and T shirts with their dogs - because it was summer - allegedly.

Hahah yeah I guess it's all about perspective. Way back when we had some dudes here from Florida to surf. It was September and our warmest water of the year, probably around 11c. We were in 2/3 mil wet suits. They had on 6 mil dry suits and were freezing all day long. Poor babies. :)

Just a few images of a typical Canadian spring day:

And every Canadian has a picture like this (if you don't have one by the time you're 25, they revoke your citizenship):

RETIRED
Well I finally bit the bullet and replaced my OEM battery. The resistance was still good when I desulfated it but the charge would be gone in a couple days if not driven. Wanted to be confident I wouldn't have a problem in the ski area parking lot.

New battery came like this:

Added the Ranger decals to the glove box. So subtle color wise, you can barely tell they’re there. But being flat black, the letters are now visible.
