Currently still running on Tremor original 265/70/17 General Grabbers. Looking for a set of 275/70/17, but in load C at maximum. No need for an E. I am interested to get a bit bigger tires, but don't have room for much. I have Readylift crash bars installed and I will soon get the 1" Tremor lift from Rangerlifts along with a set of Black Rhino Mondo 17x8.5 +20 offset.

I only found Falken Wildpeaks AT4W in that size and C load, but I don't quite love the look of the tire and they are kind of really heavy at 58.1 pounds.

And then i found the Toyo open country RT trail in 275/70/17 size and XL load rated at only 42 pounds. I find this one interesting because they are light and would probably be more comfortable on the road than my current C load Generals. I do mild to moderate offroading just 3 to 4 days a year, so I suppose XL load would be adequate in my situation.

The problem is, they are listed on Toyo official website, but I can't find them anyone for sale online. I was wondering if anyone was interested into this specific tire and size and if someone knows how to get them.

Not that specific tire, but I have the Toyo AT3's and love them.

Same here. Love our Load Range E Toyo AT3's. Had the dealer install them and a FP Leveling Kit prior to delivery. Very little road noise and they are not rock magnets.

Here's a 3rd vote for the AT3's! For the short time I had them on my '19 they were an awesome tire and will most likely be the number one choice when it comes time to replace mine on my '23.

Open Country AT3 have been in my sight for a long time and will probably be my choice if I can't find the Rt trail in that size!

Discount Tire looks to have that size, but not sure if they have stores in the great white north. I will say I have the new KO3's in that same size, and i love them. My only gripe is that they're E-Load, but honestly i don't notice it too much on the day to day, i just need to air them down as soon as i look to do any off road otherwise they'll shake my teeth out. But dropping them to 25-30 is all it takes to get them comfy on a gravel road.

I think we have the canadian version wich is called Pneus à rabais. It's nowhere to be seen on this website, or on any other tire website. If there was a Discount tire store in Vermont, New York or New Hampshire that is not to far from the border, I could easily go and pick them there, I live not too far from the border. But it doesn't seem to be the case.

At what PSI do you drive your E load tire for normal day to day driving?

I keep them around 32 PSI, they're soft enough to not rattle your teeth out and they still roll well (no extra drag)

As per our service manager recommendation and Toyo Tire Load Inflation Tables, I keep our LT's at 37 PSI unless offroad. Normal wear, firm ride, a bit clunky feeling on potholes an uneven road seams due to the extra weight.

I have the Toyo R/T Trails in 285/75R17. Been pretty happy with them so far. Came from KO2's and AT3W's before that.

If you only wheel a few times a year, I would not do them. Stay with a A/T. I have the Toyo AT3's on another truck, and really like them. I have KO3' on order for a different truck (too many trucks) so we'll see how those do.

What caught my attention was the weight for the size in XL load. Going at a lower load range than C seemed to be a good deal for someone who doesn't offroad that much and complaints about the stiffness on pavement of a LT tire
It's also not available in any other tires that i've seen. Not many options out there in that 275/70/17 size.

How to you find them on pavememt compared to the AT3 and how does it differs from them?

To lay it out the Ranger has the 34's R/T Trails on it.

I have the AT3's on a 2001 2wd Explorer Sport in a 31x10.5x15R, so a little lighter vehicle.

Comparing the two

R/T Trails
Quieter
Smoother
Better Off Road
Decent wet traction

AT3:
Noiser
Firmer
Better Street manners
Better wet traction

Most of this is expected, except the noise. It's possible the Ranger is just that much better at keeping the noise out though. Sidewall height is only 5% difference

i wouldn't so readily dismiss the falkens.

i have falken at3w's on my 4runner and they're glued to the road in the rain. love em.

i have toyo open country at3's on my ranger and have been a bit disappointed. the rear breaks loose in the wet more often than i'd like. i do have to wonder if the 4runner being a heavier vehicle and not having the turbo power of the ranger contributes to the falken's perceived performance.

good luck on this OP, i hate tire buying. way too many options.

The RT Trail looks cool, probably a good tire. We have the Toyo AT3 on out last two Honda Pilots because they have done good in snow fall when in northern parts of Utah.

My Tremor had 285/70/17 K02 and this year went to the same size K03 and man, on-road the K03 are the most quiet AT tire I have ever owned. Even more quiet than the Toyo AT3 which surprised me. It was nice cruising down the coast with Windows down and hardly hearing tire noise.

Since you already have the high clearance crash bars and plan for a 1" level, give the 285/70/19 or 295/70/17 tire size a look. My Tremor has a 1" level, 1" wheel spacers, crash bars removed and have ZERO rub with 285/70/17 tires.

i wouldn't so readily dismiss the falkens.

I am thinking it is just the super light rear end of a truck combined with boost where the 4runner has more weight over the rear and no turbo. We have the AT3 in our AWD 2023 Pilot and they do great in snow and wet roads. Actually had them on our 2016 AWD Pilot too. Just love AWD that I want my next truck to have 4 Auto whenever that may be.

I have had the Tremor stock General grabber, k02 and now k03 and they all break loose relatively easy in the rain once boost kicks in. The K03 do cut through puddles noticeably better than the k02 though and are very quiet on-road. I have been loving those K03 that I might put them on the Pilot next time.
