That happened to me...except it was on a freeway at around 65mph...the second deer in my case bounced off the side of my rear wheel and didn't damage anything...stupid lucky...

I recently moved to my hunting cabin. My county has the highest deer density rate in the state. As a deer hunter that's great, as a driver it's scary. It's probably a matter of time before I hit one. Do after market bumber guards work when you it a deer? I'm seeing damage on hoods, side of vehicles, etc.

Good question. I have toyed with bumper, bumper guard options. But I don't want to detract from the good looking front end of the 5G.

The carcasses are showing up on the side of the roads around here an it's not the busy season yet.

I was driving across 70 in Illinois at night decades ago an I swerved my way through a heard somehow. Had to be eight of them an somehow I didn't hit one.

I think they do help and will alleviate most of the damage. I see a lot of trucks out here with them and I think they do look pretty ugly. But if you drive at night or early morning it's probably inevitable that you're going to either hit one or come close to it. I don't drive at night all that much but the times that we have I always see a deer (usually several) running across the roads here. Plus with all the building going on they're being forced out of their home.

Got one of the little bastards on 10/8. Thankfully it just took out my driver's side driving light. Still got some hair stuck to the leading edge of the D/S 'step" as a reminder.
