We had a tornado warning to seek safety, but it passed directly over us and didn't touch down. My daughter and her family live in Maggie Valley.

Here is her report to me from yesterday
Last few hours of storm our basement and garage started taking on water, basement was taking on REAL water, from every wall and every crack in the floor. We borrowed a sump from neighbor who luckily had one. All our neighbors yards apparently drain into ours. New spring showed up in front of garage. New creek flowing from neighbors backyard to front of our garage. Jesse and I had dug a good sized trench to direct water in the rain before the storm came because the predecessor rains were causing ponding. That helped tremendously but was overwhelmed. It was never a deluge of rain but steady hard. Didn’t get a lot of wind at all. I think we were in just right spot on the mountain.

We walked down to the main road not even quarter mile from the house. One lane and the sidewalk closest to us were completely a roller coaster river as far as we could see down the mountain. But water receded by yesterday here. We walked the 3 miles into town yesterday. And it’s mud and dirt but very passable.

One gas station open with 20 cars lined up. Two pumps. People are panicking. I’m more worried about out a week from now when supplies don’t get here on normal schedules. A lot of major roads are closed at some point. I-40 west by Tenn is washed out in multiple places. I-40 east black mountain washed out in multiple places. I-26 south of Asheville washed out as well. Not sure about 74. But people will really start panicking then.

It’s hard to imagine how bad it is for others because you would not be able to tell there was a storm if you drove down my road. But 1 street over was a 5 lane highway that has been reduced to 1 lane. The rest have been washed away.

Here are the road closures in NC. We've had a great deal of rain in the area and the ground was largely saturated before the storm hit.

All tap waters is no longer potable. My daughter has the ability to filter and purify the water, but most do not. She is well prepared.

The reports and pictures coming out are truly heartbreaking.

I'm baaack! Traveled 1366 miles in 22 hours 6 minutes of runtime. Drove 75 mph on I-85, I-95, I-495, I-270, US 15 (65mph), I-83, and I-81, from Central NC to 50 miles north of Syracuse, NY... and back. Roughly 11 hours each way atopping only for gas.

The truck drove remarkably well. I did notice what I thought was a shudder in 7th gear when I started the truck cold the next morning after arriving, when I first got up to speed.

Averaged 25.0 mpg running 75mph for the entire trip and slightly higher around Washington DC... and they were still blowing by me! I have seen 28 mpg at 60-65mph if I baby it.

I had tires balancerd and rotated before the trip.

Transmission
Transmission was near death, but since the 2 fluid changes and the addition of LubeGard Platinum it is performing remarkably well. A few more tweaks may be required, but I think most would say that it is now normal.

Charging system, / Battery
I let the truck sit for several hours while unpacking everything and then checked on the battery just to validate my modifications made to Maximize Battery Life.

Excellent results for a 4+year old battery that was mistreated by Ford's stock BMS settings for 18 months, giving me countless low battery messages before I decided to make changes to insure a long battery life. I think I can get 10-12 years out of it now. Current Battery reading after the truck sat 6 hours after arriving home,

Battery Heath = 100%
Battery State of Charge = 100%
CCA = 952 (rated at 750)
Voltage = 12.92v
Battery Internal Resistance = 3.15 mOhms

This Battery is BACK!

Drive Train
Tom Woods driveshaft has been a fabulous upgrade, Low speed shudders gone, High
Speed (>75mph) severe shakes are gone. This is a truly a replace and forget situation. I grease the slip joint once a year whether it needs it or not,

Engine
Changed the DPEF Sensor and spark plugs (NGK Rutheniums). Low speed Jerking gone,

Fan (Silicone replacement) Hose is holding up and shows no signs of stress,

Rained hard and the #4 spark plug remained dry. I added the rubber high density pipe insulation to the cowl lip several years ago to direct water off the engine. It did its job well.

I did feel a miss / stumble when I traveled through a hard rain storm, just as I throttled up. It is caused by water entering the intake track and pooling in the intercooler - a known problem during very hard rain storms.

The truck performed extremely well and...more importantly my wife is happy!

It is good to be home.

We take prepared fruit and snacks with us. Enough for the round trip. While we are there we make trips to all the Amish farms to pick up produce to freeze dry when we get home.

We do not eat any industrial foods.

Well damn. I was driving on the highway at 65-70 MPH Saturday and all hell broke loose. Hard transmission jerk, loss of power, dash looked like a Christmas tree. I was about a quarter mile from the exit to my local dealer. Limped to the dealer. Initial diagnoses was wiring harness failure Into the fan. I looked at the tech like he was from Venus, and he said a failure allows the fan to damage the wires and causes all of these issues. I am waiting on parts. My Ranger is a 2019 with 89k miles. What a poor quality design.

I just recently had a Bronco Badlands for a loaner. It was actually pretty cool. From what I understand the Sport is quite different from other models.

Do you have extended warranty ? I'm guessing that's a pricey repair...
