Thank you so much @r_garibay !! The guy shipped it out to me. Cost me $50 shipped to my door and I just received it tonight! I’ll be SMOG’ing it and registering it tomorrow.I don’t have one but theirs a guy selling one near my area through offer up for 20$. You could ask if he’s willing to ship
Check out this item on OfferUp. https://offerup.co/mupqa1sgKLb
Also was the truck you got equipped with a livernoise or ford performance tune? Because that may be the next thing you’ll have to deal with possibly since both of those are approved for 19-21 but not 22-23 aswell… I don’t know if it’ll be a problem for you or not. Warrty wise it will but that’s a whole other issue.. wondering if the can see it or not would just like to know, you know. Also I’m in the Oakland area I was gonna offer to just lend the top part and tube so you could pass then get it back (temporary swap) I’m out near concord somewhat often so anyway, glad you got it sorted..I appreciate the willingness anyways man (But def. too far). Yeah, I'm ticked about it because if my truck was only a year older (2021) it would have passed, but because greedy California didn't get their money from Roush for 22'-23' it is now magically illegal. If it were actually about emissions the CARB number would be valid for the life of the generation of the vehicle, but it's not about emissions, its about money.
Thanks man. When I bought the truck (from a dealership in AZ) I couldn’t get the prior owners information to ask him details about the mods. Basically I had to do detective work. I suspected it was tuned, at least at one point, because it had an OBDII cord splitter plugged in and dangling. I can’t think of another reason why he would have had a port splitter cord if he didn’t have a tuner plugged in. Whether or not it was flashed back to the factory tune before it was sold to me, I wouldn’t be able to check without a tuner. I use the “Smog Guys” on A St. In Antioch. I like them. They’re cool. Also was the truck you got equipped with a livernoise or ford performance tune? To clearly ask… is your truck tuned?
And if it is tuned and you pass let me know where you took your truck so I know where to go get smogged ?
glad to see you got your intake situated.
I’ll definitely check those guys out, thank you. Thanks man. When I bought the truck (from a dealership in AZ) I couldn’t get the prior owners information to ask him details about the mods. No problem! Yeah, I can’t think of another reason to have the port split other than to keep a tuner plugged in. When I had my focus ST, I had the Cobb tuner and a lot of guys would mount it so they can do tuning on the fly or switch their maps, etc. I’m thinking whoever owned it probably flashed it back to stock before I bought it. But I don’t know how to check it without buying a tuner.I’ll definitely check those guys out, thank you.
Obd is split.. not too many reasons to do that so I agree you may be tuned then de tuned.. hopefully you’re still tuned and your guys will not spot it (if it’s tuned) and you get to enjoy the trucks potential..
One reason my evo (when I had it) was to link it up to data log… but looking back i probably didn’t need to have it split..
Our trucks can be flashed and then the tuner is put up on the shelf. (My opinion is it’s kinda nice.) I have the livernoise tuner but haven’t tuned yet as I have the long b2b warranty… after that’s over then there will be tuning done. (Plenty of time to collect the supporting mods ?.).
again thanks for the info, got them written down in my notes for when the time comes.
I cannot confirm this with my limited brain power… but there’s something called a “click count” or something like that (I’m trying to find the reference at the moment.)… if that counter is low it would indicate that a flashing of sorts has occurred. I’ll try and find where I read this but I searched for about 35-40 mins so far… I’ll probably end up finding it when I get frustrated and forget why I was looking for it in the first place ?.No problem! Hahahaha! You’re awesome man! Yeah, once I swapped it back to the stock intake, I brought it back to the “smog guys” and because they are authorized DMV vendors, they were able to smog, perform the required DMV VIN verification, and completed all my paperwork, (I had to drive to the Pittsburg dump scales to get a weight certificate) then they were able to issue me my plates and tags and reg card right there. It was like $200 for the smog and their dmv services. Of course it was like $1100 in fees and CA BS. I drove home and put the Roush CAI back on.I cannot confirm this with my limited brain power… but there’s something called a “click count” or something like that (I’m trying to find the reference at the moment.)… if that counter is low it would indicate that a flashing of sorts has occurred. However that will only identify if the truck has been flashed won’t be able to confirm tuned or returned to stock..heavy sigh… could be a reason to put your rig on a proper dyno just for funzies.. I mean to benchmark where you are currently power number wise ?.. did you pass the carb nazi situation yet brother?
Ya, CA is ridiculous. Had to do all that to register my out of state RR. Stupid people voting here ruined this once great state.Hahahaha! You’re awesome man! Don't feel bad many moved to AZ and continued their same bad habits. It was sad to see a once great state go down the tubes in 4 short years. ?Ya, CA is ridiculous. Had to do all that to register my out of state RR. Stupid people voting here ruined this once great state.
Yes, absurdity, stupidity, and hypocrisy. They left for reasons and perpetuated it. I would dread the day I have to say that about our nation.. Needs to stop.Don't feel bad many moved to AZ and continued their same bad habits. It was sad to see a once great state go down the tubes in 4 short years. ?
I kinda agree with that, with slight modification…give them the two bay areas (sf, la) and Santa Cruz… so it ends up kinda looking like Hawaiian islands but attached to the mainland … but truthfully I’d rather just stop the cancerous mindset they have… their parents didn’t love them enough to give them hugs and discipline ??‍?… well and we have Newscum making money disappear into his offshore accounts.Ive always thought if Ca. was divided length ways down the middle west to east we would be happier.Anyway glad you got it resolved.
