So, I showed up at 750am for my 8am 60k service. Talk to the rep describe issue with shuddering and fact I think I need brakes. Says the 60k inspection will check brakes, but the shudder issue needs its own appointment with the “back shop”. Ok, but maybe your rep should have told me that when I made the appointment. I settle into the waiting area doing a little trip research on my phone. Didn’t notice the time, but I was getting bored so I strolled over to the viewing area to check progress. Still on the rack, it’s now 915ish, At 10 the rep comes over apologizes for how long my service took says no charge, hands me the invoice zeroed out and hustles me outa there. Well, thanks for the free service…..BUT now I’m terrified they broke something or damaged the truck some how lol. Never got a freebie at a stealership in 44 years of driving.

Now I’ll have to go over the truck thoroughly to tamp down my fear ??????

He said it was the “long wait”.
That was most likely it and he was trying to be nice. But....I'd still be afraid something was messed up! o_O?

Give it a look, but I would tend to believe him and leave it there.

Of course, I'm more trusting of people than I should be sometimes, so don't trust him. BURN the WITCH!

Kidding, you're fine.

ADDED: BTW, I posted in another thread that from my mild complaints in a customer survey a rep contacted me and then gave me a free service (oil, fluids, tire rotation). At least they didn't tell you to suck it up and go someplace else if you don't like it.

Did you check to see that they actually did anything, such as change the filter?
I watched them rotate the tires, but did not check the filter.

Geez, you’ve now got me suspicious - there’s not a lot to screw up on a simple service but I wonder…did they “double up” the oil filter gasket and spend all that time cleaning up their oily mess? Did they strip the drain plug and have to helicoil it? Or strip a skid plate bolt? Bust a retainer clip while removing the air cleaner cover? Put in the wrong oil and have to drain it and put on a new filter? Put coolant in the windshield washer reservoir or vice versa? Or did they……….wait, I guess there is a lot you can screw up.

I’m guessing your truck is fine and they spent all that time trying to reconnect the damn glove box damper cable after checking the cabin air filter.

Those who know, know.

Kinda the same thing happened to me when I went in for my first service that also included issues with the rear P/S cab door. The upper seal around the latch was all FUBARed from new. Made closing the door fully difficult, so I trimmed it till they could take car of it. Fortunately for me there was no waiting as I just left it there while I was at work (2 miles from me) but, there was a screw up with the parts order so I had to bring it back the next day for them to finish the cab door. Which was fine no biggie for me. But when I picked it up after the completed work, the advisor said "no charge" and was apologetic for the delay and screw up. I replied this is my first service so it should be "no charge" ?. He was like, you're correct, next one then.

I actually marked my tires (ever so subtlety ?) to make sure they rotated them lol
I've been doing that for years when I caught a dealer not rotating them back in MA. I mark the back side of the tire and check it before leaving. Luckily it was only a one time thing.

What does a 60k include? If it’s just an oil change it’s very easy for an advisor to eat 100$ bill for an oil change. Ends up only being like 10% of the bill.

pretty much it’s the works, oil/filter, tire rotation and check brakes, cabin filters air filter etc. they said my front pads were 8mm and rear 7mm.
