Had no idea this happens. Can’t wait to check it outNo, try this next time you’re in your ranger. Dont move the steering wheel on a straight away and your dash will display a message to “Keep hands on steering wheel”, if no input is still detected the message will turn red and start beeping at you.
Try going west of that big river. You know? The Mississippi.I've never found a straight or smooth enough road where no inputs were needed for more than two seconds lol...
What about the road surface crown, tire grooves, expansion joints? I can't imagine traveling more than a 100 feet without something deflecting the front tires even a little bit enough to need correction...Try going west of that big river. You know? The Mississippi.
Nice change of scenery.
I've had mine throw up this alert before too. Oklahoma turnpikes can be pretty straight and flat. Tends to happen when you can get into a straightaway on a perfectly flat road, requiring no steering input at all. Rarely happens though, maybe twice a year. What about the road surface crown, tire grooves, expansion joints? To be honest, I've seen this alert as well...going down the highway...hand on wheel rocking slightly left/right as usual...out of no where...WARNING! ARE YOU AWAKE?! I think it's a back seat nanny BS...I've had mine throw up this alert before too. Oklahoma turnpikes can be pretty straight and flat. No, you don't have it. I have an XL also and can confirm. What we DO have, and you probably know this, is the collision alert/emergency braking feature which legit saved me and my truck's bacon one rainy day. I'm glad I had it in that instance. That could have been a mess.Every day I'm more thankful I got an XL. I don't have this crap, right?
It was either weave with the road or drive off into the ditch...?There are actually two different alerts. The "Keep your hand on the wheel" one if it doesn't detect steering wheel input. And the "Rest suggested" one if it thinks your weaving in you lane too much.
There should be a coffee dispenser on the dash ... like those vending machines at bowling alleys.Well, speak of the devil...guess my truck thinks I'm sleep driving down the twisty country road..,

At 70 mph I am covering more than 102' per second. 2 or 3 seconds without touching the wheel is only a problem on the worst roads. What about the road surface crown, tire grooves, expansion joints? Perfect alignment ?...but like I've said, 2 seconds...after that I think something's going to start drifting...At 70 mph I am covering more than 102' per second. 2 or 3 seconds without touching the wheel is only a problem on the worst roads.
Maybe you need your alignment checked?
