Has alchohol been banned and prohibition been implemented by the king :frown:. The sandwich looks great.
That damn King - I remember when that guy had good taste in women. For two reasons, I have imposed my own zero alcohol policy (not a drop) whenever I have to drive or think that I might have to.
  1. Sure, one or two might not be a problem but when the LEO sticks his head in the window and smells booze and asks you if you’ve had anything to drink, you have two choices; lie and say no and he calls BS, or admit to having a couple. Either way, it results in a delay while they do a field sobriety test and a roadside screening that could leave you truckless for 24 hrs, even if you’re under the legal limit. A PITA I prefer to avoid.
  2. Most importantly, I carry the most precious cargo I know, Mrs. DukeCanBuildit, and she’s worth it.

@Burnt Money is serving up Key West Style Winn Dixie Rotisserie Chiken.

I hear the chickens are guaranteed fresh.

Not “tonight” but for lunch at the cottage it was Montreal smoked meat on a whole wheat bagel with some Monterey Jack cheese, a couple of dill slices, and lots of plain ole yellow mustard. Served up with some Lays Original chips and a cold Guinness “0”.

If you like Guinness and you haven’t tried Guinness “0”, you really should. For a zero alcohol beer, I had my doubts but they’ve come pretty close to the original with this nitrogen-charged tall can.

If you don’t like Guinness, you won’t like this either. ?
I like Guinness and I love Spaten Optimator - especially at room temperature - a chewable beer! =)

Actually, as of May, OPP officers don't even have to suspect that you've had anything to drink anymore; a field sobriety test is now mandatory for every traffic stop in the GTHA no matter what.

Honestly, I'm not sure if that's really a wise use of either police or tax-payer resources. I get doing the field sobriety test "for cause", but doing one at every single stop no matter why the person got pulled over seems a little excessive, and a waste of both the officer's time and our tax dollars.

Don't get me wrong, I don't drive drunk, and I'm not trying to advocate for anyone's right to drink and drive, I just don't see this move as necessary or a wise use of resources.

Now that any traffic stop on the 400 series highways will involve the test, it increases the amount of time per stop. I also question the impact it will have on existing resources. People are likely to react in ways that will require backup or Supervisors to attend, taking additional resources away from their tasks. I guess we’ll learn more in time.

Exactly; as all of these additional resources are tied up for an extensive time period in routine traffic stops, what else ISN'T being responded to due to a lack of resources? All in all, this stinks of an excessive political reaction to soap-boxers without any real thought into either the RO(T)I or side-effects that this will bring about.
As contrary as it sounds, the best case scenario seems to be that the OPP "boots on the ground" see this for the resource-waster that it really is, and end up "rubber-stamping" the mandatory requirement unless they have "cause" to do it for real, which will turn this into another one of those joke laws to which nobody pays attention, except a lawyer who needs a Hail Mary to get an obviously guilty client off on a technicality.

Grilled cheese with fries and a Coke for lunch on the beach.

IMG_6890.webp

Four kinds of cheese (mozzarella, provolone, cheddar, Monterey jack) on Bavarian sourdough multi-grain bread, spread with roasted garlic mayo instead of butter for grilling. Leftover fries from the food truck, resurrected in the air fryer for a couple of minutes. Man, it was good.

Are they sweet potato fries ?
You forgot the half sour dill pickle :inspect:.
Looks like a perfect advertising picture for Coke.

Nope, Yukon Gold, I think but they are always dark like that - maybe it’s time to change the oil. ? Dill pickle is always nice. ? Maybe I should ask Coke for royalties. ?

Did oyster mushroom soup with miso paste for flavouring plus bacon & coriander topping. And a coriander omelet for the side. Had freshly pressed apple juice as drink.

(bacon & miso store bought)
