Rarely do we have hail here (in my area), thankfully. That would be very scary!
Unfortunately (or fortunately) we happen to live in a unique area of Australia where we are close to the tropics so there is plenty of summer heat to drive the weather system, and there is a mountain range right near the coast to trap the moist air and force it to rise. This creates perfect storms, literally. Storms this severe happen several times each summer between October and February. Usually everybody who works with a computer spends their afternoon after about 2:30 scanning the "BOM" Bureau of Meteorology radar website to see if storms are coming, and if so, the likely paths. Generally if you work for a government department and can be spared, you are allowed to leave early to secure your vehicle and property if possible. Even if there is no hail, the winds and rain can be extremely destructive ripping the roofs off houses bringing down powerlines, and flooding bridges.

At the end of last year an area behind the Gold Coast, Mt Tambourine, was hit twice in as many weeks, destroying houses, collapsing some of the access roads, and destroying so much power infrastructure they brought in the Army to help with the cleanup, and to restore power which took weeks.
After Jan / Feb the tropical monsoon comes down over the northern half of Australia from Asia and the storms give way to rain which usually continues through into early/ mid April clearing up into clear cool weather for winter.

What wheels did you go with?
so i got the wheels on saturday. they look so much better than i expected. not bro truck style or too boomer. if it ever stops raining i will get a picture of the new wheels and tires on. Our @Discount Tire forum member, Joe has been awesome! he set up the appointments and deals for me. I didnt even have to make a phone call. Joe also mentioned the manufacturer will mail me a free swag bag or something like that. So as normal @Discount Tire for the win!

finally got some sunshine. i didnt think much of the wheels in pictures but on the truck i think they look pretty good. so far no rubbing or issues. so i think the trucks about done. its got almost everything id want. except the damn adjustable head rests.

I saw the Rockies game last night.I was funny to see the fans with snow jackets on.
Random thoughts... We went to topgolf yesterday, that was interesting. The snow on the ground, fog beyond the nets would occasionally roll in and obscure the far end of the 'field'...

It was from a birthday party, they said the other option was a Rockies box for the game (that was postponed) I'm glad we did topgolf. ?

Got back from my pilgrimage to the Cooperstown Baseball Hall of Fame late last night. Even more pollen coated the Ranger while I was gone. 3 months since last wash…81 degrees out today so it had to be washed. Next 3 days expecting rain, of course ????

That FX4 sticker sure looks good shining in the sun ??????

My 'incident' actually happened a week ago. Day after 'Trash Day', someone threw out a BBQ grill and a the grating from the side burner got left in the street. Not to worry, my rear tire found it! I'll either be patching the tire or getting a new one when I take it in later this week for an oil change.

Haven't posted on this thread/forum in a long time. Thought I'd drop an update cause I love reading what everyone else is doing.

About 2,500 miles ago I bought and loaded up the Ford Performance 91+ tune and have loved it so far. I run it on 93 and I could definitely feel the truck wake up, especially after sizing up to 33"s. Really wanted to go with the Livernois tune because I've heard it recalibrates the transmission to not skip gears, which I f'ing hate. Other than that I am very happy with it so far.

Then about 1,500 miles ago I put on the MBRP 3" catback exhaust. It's not too loud but its definitely a step up from stock; have had a great experience with it so far. I have done two 500 mile trips with no droning issues at all.

Hey brendan, with the ford performance pack tune if you reset the tire size (revs per mile) and then have the transmission to a re learn with the larger tires on it will improve things a lot. it will still skip gears most likely but in mine it now goes to second gear every time and will skip third, then hit all the others. after updating the size and relearn i dont feel like i lost any go power at all. to be fair my new wheels and tires are a bit lighter than the stock wheels and old tires. but i figure the height traded for less weight was about even.

You can disable/halt adaptive shift strategies via forscan.

It will still skip gears during hard pulls but daily driving it'll basically become a 9spsd (2nd gear is a rarity).

Not the same as a tune but works for me. Behaves better in stop n go traffic.
