I have a feeling it happening to me is somehow caused by my Ipod. On my way home from work sometimes I have errands to run so there are some quick stop and go's. A couple times after quick stops when I started the truck back up, the infotainment would freeze on. I can change audio options (FM to AM, but not Ipod) volume works, but I can't turn the system off, that's whats really puzzling. I push/hold the knob like normal and nothing. But when I cycle the truck off and on again, it's fine. Only happened a few times, so not a big issue, I just have a feeling it's Ipod related, but I wanted to see if others had this or something similar happen, Ipod or not.:rockon:

Yeah, a few times a year. Android here. It takes shutting off the engine, pulling the ign key and waiting a couple of minutes before mine will reset. I can unplug the usb connection and plug it back in, but I always have to stop and shut down for a couple of minutes to get it to reboot.

Android as well, I wonder if that's the culprit? Although my phones always paired through BT. Ipod is connected through the USB ports.

You can reset the entertainment head unit by pushing the power/volume button and the next track >> button at the same time for a few seconds, rather than stopping and starting the truck. My head unit will freeze up a couple times a year on SXM and I do this to reset it.

Never had a problem using just the Bluetooth, but 99.99% of the time I'm plugged in for the Maps & apps.

I think it's a momentary glitch of the Sync system losing ignition status, that the truck is off.

Normal Ops:
It's on a 10-Minute timer, Accessory Delay, when ignition is switched to off, 10-Minutes of power until you open the door, or 10 minutes have elapsed, and it powers off automatically.
When you open a door, it should immediately power off.

If you press the power button, you have 60-Minutes of power to the Sync, but you should be able to turn it off. The door opening will not shut it off, it must be manually switched to off.

I have an old Iphone (using it as Ipod), stays plugged in 24x7, the USB hub and screen always powers off on mine (10-Minute Accessary Delay) if I sit in the truck listening to music.
or
shuts off immediately after door is opened.

Mine froze so hard one time I thought I was going to have to disconnect the battery to get it to clear but instead, I took the fuse out to the info system for about 5 minutes, and it reset and all was well.

The only common infotainment problem I have is this:

If I make a quick stop like getting gas or running in somewhere and grabbing takeout, CarPlay doesn't reconnect. I have to plug and unplug the cable a couple of times to get it started. A normal stop doesn't cause this issue. It does it less if I unplug the phone while filling up.

The only. major problems I've had stemmed from times it auto-updated itself (even though I have it set not to update.) One time it killed all the connected features.

I use a USB drive with my music and evry once in a while the music freezes and if I take the drive out and reput it in the USB slot it begins to play again. it seems like the USB ports do not hold tight.

Hold the power button on the volume dial and the skip forward button simultaneously for a few seconds. It reboots the system…
Aha! I'll try that next time!

Happened once the 2nd day after I took delivery in 2019. Display was frozen and remained on even after turning truck off. I wasn't far from my dealer so I took it in. They pulled the battery and reset everything. Never happened again.

Happens to mine as well; if turn off briefly for quick stop a couple minutes, it freezes like op stated. Thank you to the others for the reset info I definitely will be using next time! Always have to turn truck off, open door and a restart has it working again.
