I've been happy with my 5G SuperCab, but my kids do not want to ride in the back (and I don't blame them.) I ordered a 6G way back in July, which Ford built in January and has been sitting in Michigan ever since. When will I get it? Good question. I was looking to switch to a crew cab anyway, so waiting for the next model felt right. I didn't know I'd be waiting so long.

One odd 6G thing to me is that the reported mileage numbers for the 2.7 are worse highway than on an F-150. The 2.7 in the Ranger has 3.73s, which should make it a rocket. Ranger mileage numbers have never been a lot greater than F-150 ones, but for one engine choice to have worse numbers seems off.
The 2.7 in the 150 is a 3.53 (standard) gear, probably where the difference comes from.

+1
Was really surprised to see that recently. Seems weird.

I live near the ranger/bronco plant and often see 5g rangers and broncos traveling in groups of 6 to the rail terminals in the area. Saw my first group of 6g rangers yesterday. That leads me to believe they are starting to ship them.

some thoughts on the features I noticed
Bed power bank - very cool, is that an add-on for XLT? Only some people need it.
Sliding rear window - previously only available on the Lariat, is it electric now?
TG damper - for those who hate them (not me) can you take it off?
painted door keypad - I don't know if that was an option on any 5G package
rotary shifter, not - so glad to see the same stick shifter
elect. e-brake - not sure I like this
Power seats - was this an option on the 5G XLT?
info options - the information available in the dash is impressive
grill - ok, but I still like the 5G grill
My 22 XLT with 302a package has heated/power seats and sliding rear window

While I have to admire the new ones, just because, I will say there is nothing on the new ones I wish I had on mine. I'm completely satisfied with mine. Completely.
The new RAPTORS sure are enticing though...

My '21XLT Sport 4x4 with 302A pkg does too. Both driver and passenger.
And power folding mirrors.
I love those amenities!

Still no Supercab. Booooo! I can live with a 6' bed, though it isn't the best coming from an 8' Superduty, but no way with a 5'...
While I would LOVE a 6' bed, I have to admit, I haven't really had issues with my 5' bed. I bought a bed extender because I thought it would help a lot, and I've only used it once or twice. The depth of the bed helps a lot.

With that said, I'd still love the option of a 6' bed crew cab, but Ford doesn't seem interested in offering it. If Toyota offers it in a hybrid, I may have to look at a Taco - the new '24 seems to have resolved a lot of the issues with the 3rd gen units.

Totally get the comments about a 6 foot bed. But, I use the back seat of my truck a lot. Sometimes groceries, or purchased items that we want to hide/secure while we go elsewhere, etc. Often times for my dog. Rarely for those human type/shaped organisms. But on those rare human hauling occasions I need advance notice so I can clean up the dog slobber, hair and stray dirt that finds its way around the seat cover.  So, I need the back seat. Which means I had no choice about the 5 foot bed.

As to the 5 foot bed. I've used it for a ton of yard projects in my first year of ownership. Hauled 8 foot lumber multiple times. Hauled loads of landscaping stone and mulch multiple times. (Recently, and totally by accident, overloaded it with stone. Blue beauty just laughed and said "that all you got?!") Through all this I've not once found myself saying "Dang, I really need a 6 foot bed." Hauling our kayaks? Yes, a 6 foot bed would be better. Is it doable with the 5 footer? Absolutely! I routinely did it last summer. And looking forward to doing so this summer. BTW, with the kayaks? Classic example of when I use the middle tie downs that I purchased.

Anyway, just had to show some love for the ol' 5 foot bed this morning.

My 22 Lariat has almost power seats. They cheaped out on the back making them a pain to get right after moving. The back window slides but not with a button. The steering wheel is icy and I guess that's to freeze your hands to the wheel so you don't get thrown out as it bangs between gears when cold. Really a big disappointment for the price paid.

bed power bank is an option( I believe) - correction, apparently its standard
sliding rear window does have a power option this time - finally...
damper should be easily removable if desired.
if it was ordered from the factory, i think the 5g keypad was color matched (but i could be wrong)

personally, Im kinda pissed that theres no moonroof option... in early promo info it was going to be available but it seems to have disappeared.

Sorta planning my next rig.
Same old debate SUV or pick up? I like many don’t haul anything but, it sure is nice to have.
Few things I know going forward.

No diamondbak cover on my next truck. Cap or a cheaper folding hard cover that’s easier to take off.

If I get another ranger, it will be plain ol 4wd with the rear locker. If forescan works on the 6g I can add terrain management from what I understand. And have never used on this tremor. ?

I’ll add suspension parts if I need them.
