While the truck in the video is a fabulous color, that screen in the center is truly hideous. :surprised: :puke: OMG who glued a freaking laptop to the dash? U G L Y. Truly fugly.

What the hell are they doing to new vehicles?! I want/need a vehicle, not a new laptop.

It took me a while to get used to the 5G styling and externally the 6G has even less personality at first glance.

The peek under the hood in 'Truck King's video had me focused not just on the lack of an engine cover but the 'horn' for the intake looks like it is fully utilizing the space of the cowl cover - unlike the 5G where many of us jumped on the AfE Magnum.

With the other mods I never recognized any benefit to the swap but it looks like there won't be a lot of options for 6G'rs. It also appears Ford emulated the VelossaTech Big Mouth - no telling until we get a look up close. The whole intake airbox looks completely redesigned.

Base engine 2.3 eco boost is the same , so not missing much as far as power plant concern. The 6G though got rid of the mechanical radiator fan for an electric one.

I see that the 6G diesels are out now (in Europe). The 6G v6 would be nice for the adaptive shocks, but that's missing from the diesel. And also the 30k$ price increase is keeping me with 5G.

So, you can't get an integrated trailer brake controller in the XL/STX, and the 2.7 is only going to be offered in 4X4.

Both a miss for me. Only way I'd get another one is if the Hybrid were compelling, and by that I mean, build it in an entry level 2WD and let me pick a few options to make it suitable for towing.

Otherwise I'll probably pick up a 2.7 F150 in a few years.

Curious if there's been any revision of MPG estimates?

I seem to recall someone on this forum was trying to develop a good alternative to the 5G setup as far as the fan. Ford must have picked up on that.

Wonder if it comes with decent shocks.

some thoughts on the features I noticed
Bed power bank - very cool, is that an add-on for XLT? Only some people need it.
Sliding rear window - previously only available on the Lariat, is it electric now?
TG damper - for those who hate them (not me) can you take it off?
painted door keypad - I don't know if that was an option on any 5G package
rotary shifter, not - so glad to see the same stick shifter
elect. e-brake - not sure I like this
Power seats - was this an option on the 5G XLT?
info options - the information available in the dash is impressive
grill - ok, but I still like the 5G grill

Nothing to entice me to trade my paid for 5G at all. Now, a long bed crew cab with a hybrid powertrain? That would make me seriously consider trading....

I've been happy with my 5G SuperCab, but my kids do not want to ride in the back (and I don't blame them.) I ordered a 6G way back in July, which Ford built in January and has been sitting in Michigan ever since. When will I get it? Good question. I was looking to switch to a crew cab anyway, so waiting for the next model felt right. I didn't know I'd be waiting so long.

One odd 6G thing to me is that the reported mileage numbers for the 2.7 are worse highway than on an F-150. The 2.7 in the Ranger has 3.73s, which should make it a rocket. Ranger mileage numbers have never been a lot greater than F-150 ones, but for one engine choice to have worse numbers seems off.
