Should be good to go being the operative phrase there...
I doubt Ford would let them do a warranty repair without using the updated parts.

But....you never know.

I'm planning on doing all fluids at 5k and probably repeating that on the 25s thereafter

So:

5k D&F + Filter + PPE Pan
25k D&F
50k D&F + Filter
75k D&F
Etc Etc

Seems like keeping these trannys clean, particularly the valve bodies, is a worthwhile endeavor

Mine was built in May of '23 so should already have the updated CDF drum but that doesn't mean it's immune to the other issues

The issue continues, l’m 2k above PPE pan , fluid, filter change I did @ 6100 miles. I also have Bryan’s dipstick installed .No issues but my mileage is 50% towing in Fl heat. I only drive 3K a year and plan on changing fluid when it has 6 k on it.
Initial fluid was slightly dark red @ 6100 miles.
I did buy extended warranty for first new vehicle in my life.

I was checking my truck in the dealer this week, transmission issues of course, I used to work there, so I ask my advisor/buddy about the TSB on the valve body and the CDF drum, he promptly responds, "oh you mean that?" points to one under his desk he uses as a foot rest, they are all bad he says, but I think yours is new enough, you should have the better trans case and the drum, but your valve body falls in the TSB.

It's a shame, Ford has had so many transmission problems overall for so many years, they were always one of the busiest tech's in the shop.

WAIT, now that I think about it, not exactly, in 1982 when I started at Ford, the trans guy was bored, did light line work between trans jobs, it was when the overdrive came along that the transmission guys got busy, they have been busy since.

Not just Ford , I worked at a GM dealership in the 80's , when they took the 350/400 turbos out of the big cars , transmission work went ?...

Thankfully they fixed it under warranty. I'm nervous that this will happen again though.

Has anyone had this issue? How does it even happen?

HOW MANY MILES ON THE ODO? WHAT WERE THE SYMPTOMS?

Per the latest TSB 23-2350 the CDF replacement falls on vehicles built on or before 8/16/22

Correction - It is 8/15/22 (On or Before)
8/16/22 - Appears or I Assume to have the newer CDF Drum

And my build date is 8/16/22 - So IDK if I have the updated CDF Drum or not, as it appears, or I assume that is the date where they started with the newer updated CDF drum being installed in the transmission.
So, I may be the Guinee Pig, time will tell as I just have 11,000 on the OD.
I bought the Granger - Extended Warranty as this being the #1 Reason for it.
No issues so far, shifts are great (SO-FAR)

You are correct, I got the ons or befores mixed up ?‍♂. I would think that there’s some data ( serial # or etc) that would tell if yours is the updated CDF drum. Getting that info may be difficult to obtain though. But I am sure someone knows.
Glad to hear that it’s been working well for you so far. A friend has a 23 and he reports the same smooth shifting as you.

I recently watched a video where the Ford Transmission tech stated that a new TSB has replaced the previous one, and that the CDF issue affected the rangers up through 2023. I have no idea how reliable the info is. I'll try to find the video and post a link here. It been about a week since I viewd it.

That's swell read all about trans problems back in 2021 before I ordered a 2022 Ranger, figured the Trans problem was taken care of. My 2022 was built in 6/22 Guess I'll be having problems.

Because I'm just not mechanically minded and admittedly have trouble keeping up with yall when you talk about the TSBs, I have to ask this:
I have a 2021 4WD with 31,500 miles.
When I next go in for oil change, do I need to ask the dealer about the TSB as a proactive measure, or would they know on their own to address this?
For that matter, do I need to poke them to check for ANY and ALL TSBs that might apply to my truck or maybe even look them up myself and pri t them off or something?
How does this all work?
