Just got home from hauling a 5,500 pound load on tiny, up to 10% grade roads for a total of 350 miles. She never broke a sweat! 16mpg over the whole trip.

That little four banger really does the trick!

That’s phenomenal mileage.
On a 10% grade to boot!
mine drops in to single digits when I’m pulling my Side x Side on the steep hills here in Northern Nevada. There’s no lack of power, especially since installing the Ford Performance tune, but the mileage sucks.

I had to do a little digging but is that a Dodge Dart with Phoenix trim?

Does it have swivel front seats?

Phoenix was an Australian made Dodge Dart. Wasn't imported to USA.....guess someone brought this one over from "under".
Whats weird is that the Aussi made were right hand drives, while this one is a US left hand drive......maybe a conversion....but why do that to a low cost entry level car ???

Wow that's great mileage, my best is 18 unloaded! Did you weight the trailer with the car? I think you may be closer to #6500 with the trailer. I have never seen one of those, looks like a great project!

Yes, the Phoenix was an Aussie model but the American cousin was the Dart. The trim badge on the American model threw me off and Dart seems to be nowhere on it. Having never heard of the Dodge Phoenix, I searched Dodge Phoenix and ended up having to drill deeper into things to finally find images of the U.S. version on Wikipedia.

“The Dart line was offered in three trim levels: the basic Seneca, mid-range Pioneer, and premium Phoenix.”
The only Dart I remember was Grandma’s little hot rod - can’t recall if it was a Swinger or GT but it had a V8 and might have had a factory Hurst shifter.

Go granny, go granny, go granny, go!

Yep, 1960 Dodge Dart Phoenix. My son (21) rescued another orphan. There was an Aussie version but in the US is was a trim level.

Wide 318cid v8, Pushbutton 3 speed auto. Space age as it gets. Heres what the interior should look like...

Now that is a good example of Detroit Iron. Beautiful in it's own way. Looks like a blank plate where an "optional" Radio would be. Also the location of the rear view mirror is interesting.

For a second there I thought you said your grandma was a swinger. Go granny go ! LOL

Mom had a Dodge Dart Swinger with a 318 when I was in high school. I gave that thing hell when she let me drive it :)

Haha. I think hers had a 340. She just thought it was a nice little car and couldn’t understand that when she went to sell it, all these young guys were coming by to see about it. ?

Yes many years ago my late father had a 59 Plymouth Belvidere which had the mirror in the exact same place. ? Maybe a Mopar thing in the day.

The whole reason I bought the truck was

A. it was not a full size and yet it can still tow up to 7700 lb.

B. at the time I bought it almost 2 years ago. it was the best mid-size truck available

PXL_20230225_015529934.jpg
So MPG while towing???? did you get 16 also?
