Those are what I will probably try next, but I do have to get the 36" version?
The only downside is that the special handling fee charged by the shippers will probably still apply for these
? ? ? :asshat:

Anything to squeeze more money from people ?

HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone ?

That's interesting, I priced uline before, they are usually one of the more expensive, in price and shipping, I just did a trial checkout, not that bad, shipping was only $24.

I need to hit Box City and see if they have something similar, pick up a few of them, I'm not sure I should drop $136 on the uline order until I can see if they hold up better than the tubes.

That's the backside of the stick, the front where you read the level it has the text a few inches up the stick.

The top one is your stick, the bottom one is the updated stick, the same one I will send you to replace your original one, but I have to figure out the shipping.

That jogged my memory ?.

The cardboard tube you showed looked a little lightweight. Maybe there are heavier gauge ones available but for a one-off shipping project it seems like a drain on the 'business.'

Those are the thickest at .125 in the mailer category, the next step up is the .250 for shipping steel pipe and such.

Yes, the shipping has become more of a challenge than getting the replacement sticks

Mike, speaking for myself, I feel you have gone above and beyond what was expected when you came up with the improved measuring stick, and the fact that you are willing to send it out to us "early" buyers.
Something that is rare from any manufacturer these days.
As for me, just pick out the best way to ship it and charge me....absolutely no reason for you to eat the shipping/handling....you have already spent a lot time and effort looking at ways to ship.
Just pick one and let each know, and if their willing to spend the few $$$.
I'm ready for mine !!!!:like:

It's in.

I tried to get the factory fill cap from underneath, no dice. Too tight and no leverage. Planned to try the passenger wheel well but I needed a long breaker bar and freaking Lowes didn't have one.

Wound up getting it from above, two 20" extensions and a pivot adapter on the end above the socket on my 1/2 ratchet. Popped loose easy.

Everything else was pretty easy. Maybe get a nice narrow jaw adjustable wrench with a short handle for tightening the adapter and tube fitting when bolting everything up.

I'll run it up to temp tomorrow and check the level.

Nice kit Fitz ?? Went in easy and it'll make draining and filling a lot easier when it's time for fluid/filter service and a PPE pan.

I’m gonna go ahead and say my Scan Gauge purchase was a waste - so, I’ll be selling it since I think I’m beyond my return period. I didn’t realize I could get so much information out of the OBD Link MX+ & an app (Car Scanner on Apple iOS).

…and just a few miles of city stop + go after sitting at 185 for 50 or so miles got it to 209.88°F and I definitely didn’t need that extra fluid. Sitting just above the 4.

Now that you've told everyone what you think of the Scan Gauge, I wouldn't try selling it here lol...

OBDFusion is what I use and it can show transmission gear position while your in S mode!

Ha. Good point. That’s ok. I’ll find a home for it.

Good call! Just switched coolant temp to gear. Much more fun to monitor. Haha.

? that's my issue, with trips around town I'm only getting to about 185F and sitting at about the 6

Need to get another 20F hotter to really get an accurate read, might have to go bombing around a bit later to try and get it shifting some more

Do we know how much fluid it takes to jump from one number to the next? Roughly?

So if you're saying on the 6 at operating temp do you need another quart to get to 5 and a quart and a half to land between 4 and 5? Anybody come up with a rule of thumb for that yet?

I'm right at 5 at 205F, I'm not messing with it. It's fine. However, if I give 'er a look down the road and I'm halfway between 5 and 6 do we know if that's a half quart or a full quart or what?

You're fairly safe 5 at 205F...4.5 is ideal...I wouldn't be guessing at how much to add/subtract at any other temp other than full operating temp of over 200F...

You're misunderstanding. At 200F+ have we come up with any rules of thumb for how MUCH to add to move half a number or a full number up the stick in relation to a quart of ULV?
