Got the same one and it works well. I have used it on many Ford vehicles including my 2019 Ranger. It beats having the switch for high and low can. This is built in and does it automatically

I have both EX & MX+.
The limitation of the EX is you are tied via cable to the data port and makes it somewhat cumbersome to place laptop on the drivers seat with steering wheel in the way (17 in screen)
Sure you can move seat / steering wheel but then you have to find the sweet spot again.
I like the MX+, as it is Bluetooth and I can put the laptop on the workbench and make changes.
So this coincides with my Autel Scanner via Bluetooth but that is a tablet and I can hold it in my hands
I have zero issues with the EX and MX+ as far as Forscan connection in the garage and I have a strong wireless connection to my router.
With my latest Ford platform update on the Autel I now have the same functionality as FDRS except programming the PCM, I think with the proper cable I can do it as I have the software tab to do it.
Even with FDRS it has to see an authorized cable to let you into the programming software.
But these are very expensive cables and not really worth the cost just for a few added benefits over the Autel or Forscan.

So Forscan is now only used for user changes that the Autel / FDRS will not allow. Bambi Mode Etc.

I too like my MX+. No cable makes it really handy. I keep in in the centre console, barely notice it in there.

Does the MX+ do both the high and low CAN networks and allow changes via forscan wirelessly? I'm looking at this stuff and thought I saw something about needing a wired connection for saving changes

You are thinking about the MX+ connection for iPhone , if I recall the mobile version will not allow changes, however if you use the MX+ with windows you can make changes just like the EX (cable)
Neither the EX or MX+ requires any switching, it is done automatically

I have an OBD EX listed in the R5G classifieds, somewhere LOL:) It worked exactly as advertised and I had no issues with it. If you are interested, I am what you might call a motivated seller, since I don't have the truck anymore.

Get the OBDLink EX. Had a friend who worked for OBDSolutions (the OBDLink engineers) for a while, and he even said the EX was developed with assistance from the FORScan developers. For $50, its well worth it

I have been looking at the different "forscan" connections for my 2019 Ranger. All they all the same? I just want to change the battery charge from 75% to 90 or 95% if possible. Which on is best? Thanks

I have the OBDLink MX, (The version before the MX+ came out). Works great. I use it mainly to connect to my phone and run Torque Pro for gauges. I also use it for the occasional Forscan change/troubleshooting, have never had any issues. I leave it plugged in as it is one of the few that goes into sleep mode when the truck is shut off.
