typically i would agree. but stock bulbs in stock lenses adjusted by an ASE master mechanic are a lot less likely to be the issue than folks wanting to be jerks. i dont have led drops ins or aftermarket lenses etc. just what ford put in at the factory .

I initially just used Auxito LED bulbs in my OEM XLT light assembly's and they worked very well, never was flashed but some on the forum said they may have caused a lot of glare for oncoming traffic so I then tried replacing the whole headlight assembly's with a dedicated LED projector light made by Vland ($400./pair) and they worked as well as the bulbs, but throw out less glare. Here is a night shot on low beams and the high beams.

This is what my Auxito Bulbs looked like.

I'm intrigued. Difficult to install (no install pdf at Amazon to check out)?

Currently $600 at Amazon. Did you get them elsewhere?

TIA for any info you can provide.

Cheers.

honestly im not sure what the headlight adjustment procedure is for the 5g trucks. Im sure some one here does know. it may be in the manual or some for bulletin. a few guys around here are engineers and mechanics so maybe they will enlighten us...
It doesn't take and engineer or mechanic. You park X feet from a wall, pop the hood and on the top of each headlight is an 8mm bolt. Put a cordless drill on it and as it spins the lights go down to the cutoff point. To find the cutoff by putting tape on the wall at X feet high and lowering the lights until the cutoff is below it. I don't remember the numbers for distance and height but the info is around. I did this, have all three auxitos and never been flashed across six states. I'd tell @maxbottomtime to take his comment and stuff it up his ass but judging by his name he probably does that regularly.

The install was a bit involved. I found a Youtube video that guided me through it.

At the time, the best price I found was on eBaymotors at US $399.99, but they're currently selling direct from the factory at US $454.99

yes, i'm the problem, not the people using non DOT drop-in LEDs that are brighter than the sun (and don't match halogen bulbs).

I'm guessing a lot of the "lighting geniuses" spouting their safety for others and efficacy haven't taken a single optics class.

People are rude and do not think about others.

Just buy a Lariat with LED projectors already built-in. Then the Neanderthals who hate you because you want whiter, brighter light from an LED to see better can't yell at you and call you a "prick".

I replaced the lows, highs, and fogs lights with Auxito LEDs. No issues and no one flashing me. People flash my wives factory LEDs on her Honda Pilot every single night. Lol

Wow. Just watched a video I found. That is an annoyingly involved process. Without a garage that will be for me an all day, better weather project.

But it is plug and play; no reprogramming necessary?

Thanks for the eBay link. ?

Ironic, you making this statement. An indictment of your own behavior.

Anyone with drop in leds is a selfish prick.
...
I go out of my way to flash these assholes

Just sayin', your delivery could use a little polishing up.

honestly i'm just tired of it. People don't think about how their actions might impact others. I'm not chasing cars down to flip my lights, but if somoene has drop-ins brighter thna the sun i flash them. I don't leave my lights on, blind them at the last second, etc. After years of seeing the "WeLl nO ONe eVER fLAsHEs me" clueless posts, i assume those people aren't trying to inflict danger on others, but are just clueless. I'd be happy to let them know they are in fact impacting others.

Still not as bad as the first snowfall when the blades get put on the front of the trucks with the built-in headlights pointed to the moon.

I get it. I really do. Frustration. I do not like excessively bright headlights either. And I am one of those "pricks" with Auxitos in my XLT. I have taken out my other cars and faced my own 2020 Ranger head on(wife driving the Ranger) at night to see if I was brighter or blinding others.

I did the same with my CX-5 with built in LEDs that actually turn when going around curves. The CX-5 headlights are outstanding from the drivers perspective. But they are just as bad at brightness as the Auxito Ranger. Low beams on my Ranger are very good with regards to oncoming glare (from my admittedly non scientific testing). But the CX-5 headlights are just as bad, and on a hilly road worse.

Since the wide acceptance of LED headlights in modern cars, I honestly have a difficult time knowing when oncoming traffic headlights are on bright any longer. I've taken to wearing yellow shades over my glasses at night. They actually work! I'm still not happy with the situation and I am of the opinion that headlights should stay in the 3700K-4300K light spectrum. I see that as the real issue here.

But I get your frustration.

one reason i love R5G . When one asks a question a good answer is on the way. now we should all have correctly aimed headlights. led or halogen or in my case lamp oil...

anyone ever see the c130's with the big ass spot / search light? im mean big- like if its on and you walk in front you get nearly instant burns... thats what i want on my 5g for the high beams :giggle:

Opinion On:
Aiming helps, but I still think the light spectrum is too high for all LED headlights.
Opinion Off:

I'm scheduled for an eye exam and will be getting new eye glasses this week. I am going to ask about the possibility of getting a pair polarized in yellow.
  • Pilots have polarized flight glasses,
  • Techies and computer users have glasses that block the blue spectrum reducing eye strain
  • Maybe drivers need yellow polarized shades for night driving.
I've had worse hair brained ideas.

I'll let you know how it works out :)
