Has anyone tried to upgrade the horn on their built in security alarm?

I am happy with the stock horn(s) on my Ranger, but when I accidentally set off the security alarm, it sounds absolutely anemic. I want people in the next county to hear my truck when someone is trying to break in. Any suggestions on improving the noise level?? Enquiring minds need to know.

Not too hard...it's a Sound Alert siren system...I just hook the horn up to replace the car horn...don't have an alarm and this is the panic button...

So you do not have a regular car horn? Could be interesting in traffic, might think you are an emergency vehicle. Could be interesting if law enforcement got a shot of it.

The regular horn works great. I accidentally tripped my alarm by locking the door with the engine off, key out of the ignition and me inside, then opening the door from inside. The horn sounded, but sounded like about half the strength of the regular two-tone horn. It sounded more like a bleat.

i have a horn from a 1970s gm truck collecting dust in my garage. ive been tempted to wire it up to one of the rangers in place of the stock horns as i expect it would be more assertive in volume as well as tone.

The Security Alarm horn is a separate horn - Single.
The Trucks - normal horn is a Dual Horn
