Took it out for a spirited Sunday morning rural drive to remove any oil from the fuel. I've been working from home for a few months now and don't get the truck out very often. I think we both enjoyed it. I drove it in tow mode and used sport mode a lot with manual shifting (+/-) to get some rpm's and use the trans as it was designed.

I've been considering a pedal commander, and ordered one last week. It should be delivered this week, so I'll see how it feels on my next Sunday morning drive. ?
You also will need a Sunday afternoon drive to give it an Italian tune-up.

It was a beautiful day in SoCal. The Santa Ana winds had died down a bit so I drove up Maple Springs Rd (5S04) to North Main Divide. Took the short cut obstacle and then a steep climb off the main road (23°). I made a video you can watch.

Nice!! Great scenery!! Double-nice without the typical click-bait hype and drama.

Thanks for the ride !!

Enjoyed taking the drive with you David. Thanks for sharing.:like:

I really like how fast you drove on the way down. :p
At 4X normal speed I think I got up to 24 - 30 MPH (that's 38 - 50 KPH)! Raised a lot of dust.

I lived in Silverado canyon for over ten years. Been there hundreds of times, literally. Next time go right at the junction instead towards black star. It’ll take you to blue jay campground off of Ortega highway near El Cariso. I’m not sure if it’s still passable. I haven’t been in a long while.

I think it's only open to hikers and MTB at this time. I've ridden my mountain bike up to Santiago Peak and did a little exploring at the intersection of North Main Divide and Maple Springs. I didn't see a drivable trail.

About a half mile past the peak the road was eroding pretty bad and that was 12 years ago. So it doesn’t surprise me that it’s impassable by 4 wheelers. Bummer great offroad trails back there. The road you were on I used to turn off and go to Corona also to the 15 freeway. Had go through the backside of the golf course there. I’ve probably explored every road back there and then some. Great memories brought back by your video, thanks for that!!!

Fun fact: lasfit lights while they look just like diode, they don't have the same heats ink pattern which means they can't use the Cali raised fog light brackets... Well they can. But it requires modifications to the lights them selves, and longer screws and a stack of washer or a spacer block....

Ask me how I know, go ahead. Ask me how far I got the truck disassembled before I found this out....

Here is a hint, taking the front bumper off really isn't hard.

After the fog light debacle yesterday, I needed a stress reliever so I washed both cars.

Of course, now it'll rain this week.

I bought a polisher and polishes to polish her car, but it got to cold to fast last week... There are a ton of water spots and small surface scratches I want to get off, as well as ceramic coat it...

I'll need to find time to do that this winter. Anyone have a reccomendation for a decent garage heater? Doesn't need to make it 80*, just keep it above 45*.

Do you have LPG or Propane ?
We have an underground propane tank...all the homes in our developement do. I have a 30,000 btu wall heater I bought from and installed by our propane supplier, tapped into the gas line.
During winter when I want to work in the garage, 30 minutes before, I turn the heater on and it will easily bring up temps to 55-60 degrees on days when temps are in the 20's.
2 car garage, 450 sq ft.

We have a gas furnace... I am sure running a gas line to the garage wouldn't be to challenging... For someone knowledgeable with gas...

If I go this route, I will have them run a line to our back deck so I can run my grill (when I buy a new one) forever. ?
