I think it's only open to hikers and MTB at this time. I've ridden my mountain bike up to Santiago Peak and did a little exploring at the intersection of North Main Divide and Maple Springs. I didn't see a drivable trail.

At 4X normal speed I think I got up to 24 - 30 MPH (that's 38 - 50 KPH)! Raised a lot of dust.

It was a beautiful day in SoCal. The Santa Ana winds had died down a bit so I drove up Maple Springs Rd (5S04) to North Main Divide. Took the short cut obstacle and then a steep climb off the main road (23°). I made a video you can watch.

My guess is the top picture's got to be aero, manufacturers are doing everything to squeeze more MPG.

Besides saving the original 'as built' file I made a paper log in the back of the book where I have listed every fill up, oil change etc. this way I can, if needed, reset each of the changes made. I honestly doubt it'll ever come to that.

Thanks for the vote of confidence. I'm up for an OC Ranger meet up. I enjoyed the day in the desert with the others. Always better with a group. Since Anza Borrego I've gone out North Main Divide and did some wheeling, part of it was on an illegal trail that was pretty steep.
