Oh, forgot. Lol. 2023 Maverick with the Ecoboost, AWD, and the black appearance package.
Funny, I traded my 2023 Maverick Lariat 2.0 EB for a Ranger. The first guy known to have hit 90k on his Maverick (DanielDeliverz on youtube) had to have his transmission rebuilt. The only things I feel the maverick did better was store stuff inside and get better gas mileage. I like the Ranger much better otherwise. That said, I really didn't have any complaints about the maverick, it was just more of a small SUV with a bed than a truck.

Eye-catching indeed! Good job! Not sure about the transmission selector knob thingy, though. I like knobs and all, but just not for that. I'm sure it'll grow on ya, though.

"But did you die?"

Hahahahahahaha

Hopefully our experiences will be mirror images.

would look pretty sick tbh i like the mavericks but im done with domestics lol
My ranger is the first domestic I've ever owned. Back when I was getting into the car market the domestic vehicles were garbage (early 80's) and I said I'd never own one. When I finally got back into the truck market after have a 93 Toyota, the Ranger was the only game in town IMO for midsize trucks. All the others were just meh.

I'm not having any problems that give me heartburn. It likes to hang in 7th and I just tap the accelerator, but I'm not bothered by it. If it gets worse then maybe I will, but overall I'm still happy.

It is, so I took the chance and snatched it up. It is Cyber Orange (aka yellow).
You didn’t happen to be driving through the mid Michigan area yesterday did you? I saw a maverick exactly like that and I remembered it as I’ve never seen one like that before!

I won't tolerate a vehicle that leaves me stranded. I expect solid reliability when maintenance is diligently performed.

I am still on the fence with my 2020 Ranger, trying to mitigate/resolve the issues before they reach critical. I have sunk more preventative measure $$ in my 2020 Ranger in 3 years / 19K miles than in my 2005 Ranger in its first 16 years / 155K miles of ownership.

I think I am closing in on reaching the desired reliability threshold that Ford should have delivered in the first place. This will be my last Ford product unless quality dramatically increases before my next purchase.

The 2020 initial cost was double the cost of my 2005.

I trust the 2005 Ranger more than the 2020.

And 2005 parts are dirt cheap.
  • I replaced both headlight assemblies for $40. And the 2005 headlights out perform the 2020 headlights (I have a 2020 XLT).
  • The 2005 transmission pan with drain plug cost me $35.
  • A replacement all aluminum thermostat housing with thermostat, sensors, and gaskets cost me $35 (the plastic one started to leak at the seals after 19 years).
All of the above has been done to the 2005 since I refurbished it top to bottom 3 years ago. Prior to that I replaced the alternator at the 15 year / 150K mile mark.

OP, sorry to hear you had issues, we're only at 40k miles & we like
the truck. Funny, the first yr(2019) everyone who bought the Ranger only
had great things to say about the trany, now it seems it's a pile of smelly something. That Mav looks great!

Cool Maverick!! Buddy of mine got a Tremor version and totally loves it.

On the transmission front, I drove a Toyota 4Runner today with the thought of trading. I didn't trade, but if I could swap that 5speed automatic transmission from the 4runner into the Ranger, it would be the ultimate setup. That 5 speed is smooth as butter, but the 4Runner it was wrapped in didn't do it for me.
