Awesome pictures guys and thanks for the Grate Lakes views and trivia! Living in the southeast, we don't get much of that so I've thoroughly enjoyed it. We live in a great country/continent.

Then, you might be surprised to learn that people who join the Canadian or U.S. Coast Guard could end up patrolling the waters of the Great Lakes or the St. Lawrence Seaway. There is a ship-to-shore communications tower off the main road above my cottage on Lake Huron and I often see a Coast Guard truck parked there.

Gee, who didn't know that? We have a CG station in town and chat with them now and then. The Canadian cutters pass through as well. Seen here is the USCG Mac.

The Isle Royale National Park vessel is likely at the Fraser ship yard (bottom photo) for its periodic inspection/reconditioning. Duluth-Superior, October 24, 2023 We been on the Ranger and Bayfield ferry also seen at Fraser.

The Ranger does have a bow thruster and was built in 1958.

As a cross-country skier (skate), I appreciate a well-groomed trail. ?

Until joining this forum and seeing your pics over the years, I really didn’t appreciate the effort that went into grooming the trails and maintaining the necessary equipment - all year long. ????

The Barker going under the Duluth lift bridge at a pretty fast speed I might add. We lived on the sandbar this bridge was made to connect to some year ago. This video shows you what its like to be on the dock or jetty as a 1000 footer comes in.

Gee our roads are slippery as snot this am and I was moving a trailer to storage. We got a tab of lake snow overnight. 1st hill to go down just a 1/2 a bock from our house I just about slide through the stop. Started to drive around looking for a more causal hill to get down to lake level. Nearly slid into two vehicles. Who needs snow tires??? I'll post photos when I can.
