Then, you might be surprised to learn that people who join the Canadian or U.S. Coast Guard could end up patrolling the waters of the Great Lakes or the St. Lawrence Seaway. There is a ship-to-shore communications tower off the main road above my cottage on Lake Huron and I often see a Coast Guard truck parked there.Awesome pictures guys and thanks for the Grate Lakes views and trivia! Living in the southeast, we don't get much of that so I've thoroughly enjoyed it. We live in a great country/continent.
It’s easy to spot since their trucks sport livery similar to a Coast Guard vessel…

We have a CG station in town and chat with them now and then. The Canadian cutters pass through as well. Seen here is the USCG Mac.
