Get into FORScan and you can change how many times it Flashes when you just bump it. I always up mine to 4 instead of 3 flashes.
I don't think you can up it on the Ranger.

Yes, Quick is the key! Mine works if your bump is quick. Really fussy compared to my previous F150 or our Edge which required no thought. Guess I need to be retrained to how the Ranger lane change rolls.
This Ranger is my first vehicle that did more than 1 with a quick bump. I was just used to the press-and-hold method until I got enough blinks. I certainly would prefer if the delay was the full 3 blinks instead of just a quick bump. But I guess it is what it is.

This is on the F150 Forscan page. I haven't tried it on my Ranger yet..

Turn Signal Flashes (# of)SCCM724-01-01xxxxx*xxxx0=1 flash, 4=2 flashes, 6=3 flashes, 8=4 flashes, A=5 flashes, C=6 flashes, E=7 flashes ** see SCCM spreadsheet for more options **
** when trailer is connected the truck will add 2 flashes to the above values *

This doesn't work in the ranger. A lot of the stuff from the F-150 does not translate.

Thanks, I'll remember that. (Glad you posted before I went though the effort of making the change)

Jim
If it was possible (maybe it is now, I haven't revisited the issue) I would have done it when I was making changes as I'm sure other as well. Hopefully (if it's still not) someone discovers the work around soon, would really like to have it at 5.

When I get back home at work now I will give it a try...

I did this on my F150 I would think they would be the same???

I know it works on the F150 but we haven't found it to work on the Ranger. And, believe me we've looked.

There's a secret menu for SOS flashes in forscan...

That's interesting... I would figure it to be the same. I will play with this some when I get a chance.

Here is some more I found.

Quoted from another forum.... I know you all tried but I want to try too. :)

Now for the OUC part

I changed the value from A to B. This is "5 flashes with OUC true."

The lane change feature and the manual positioning did not change from the previous (5 flash) setup. However, when using the "turn a corner" mode--which is pressing the stalk up/down until it clicks and it stays in that position until you've turned the wheel and it's gone back to center--things changed:

When approaching a corner, you press the stalk all the way down or up. You've been doing this since you first learned to drive. The turn signal starts flashing. You turn the corner, the wheel goes back to center and the turn signal stops flashing. UNLESS you have set OUC set to "true" in which case the turn signal stalk returns to the normal (neutral) position and the signals keep flashing. Really a weird sensation after many years of seeing the signal stop when the stalk goes back.

To cancel the flashing signal, tap the signal either up or down. It doesn't matter which direction you were indicating, the signal will stop flashing until your next use of the stalk.

None of this seems to affect the emergency flasher operation. They override everything.

Checked for DTCs: None.

I didn't verify each of the values as it's pretty straightforward regarding the number of flashes. If you want to leave things as they are but change the number of flashes, use the values with "OUC=false." If you want to confuse anyone you lend your truck to (you'd lend your truck out???) then the "OUC=true" values will do this......

2023 Ranger Lariat. The turn signal lever lane change has been driving me crazy. Quick light bump it works fine 3 flashes … push too long and it short cycles, one or two blinks depending on how long I push. My previous F-150 and wife's edge does not do this, release before the third and it finishes 3 and done, hold past the third it keeps blinking. On my Ranger is order to get the normal lane change 3 blinks and for it to not short cycle I need to be quick, less than 1 blink and gentle on the turn level to get a correct 3 blink lane change. Is this typical for a ranger? Odd that it is not just like old F-150 or the edge. I keep changing lanes with one blink. This drives the OCD in me insane.
That's how mine works too. A quick bump and it 3e flashes.

If I hold for more than a bump, it flashes as long as I hold it then off right away. Whether that's less than 3 flashes or more than 3 flashes.
