Sid, I didn't lose the bolt, I lost the nut and had to go with the C clip, looked for that damn nut for 15 minutes, no luck, found it in the driveway next day, go figure!
I used the C clamp and dropped the bolt...I still have the nut but no bolt lol...

You guys, I'll have to take the Ikea approach, throw in extra fasteners cuz they are going to lose em

Oh no, C clamp? that's a concern, it needs to be easier than that, it has to be easy enough to be done by hand, actually, it's easy by hand, pull the dipstick bracket over the engine bracket, pop the bolt in the bracket hole, wiggle it around until you feel it drop in the U nut and start by hand.

I am curious how many of the 187 (as of this post) that said yes will actually buy it now that it is being built. It seemed like the first batch were gone within an hour of them going up. I was slow and can't claim first to buy it. Might have been able to claim that if I realized my work wifi was blocking some part of ebay... once I got off that and on cell interwebs I was able to complete the purchase.

Based on the work that went into this and the continued support of those that purchased it - hoping you make a nice profit Mike. Looks like a great product. Just got done explaining why I was so damn happy about a dipstick to a non-gear head friend. Once I showed before and after pics of how to check the fluid... he caught on pretty quick.

Thanks to a small delay on UPS; mine will finally arrive tomorrow. It sort of got stuck in one state and passed around for some reason. It is in Texas for sure now; expected to be installed no later than Saturday morning - still seriously thinking of taking a day off during the week to get it installed sooner.... but it looks like we might actually have a decent chance of rain the first part of the week. I did some detailing work on the Ranger today - so it should rain for sure now.

Not saying I need a walker but you do know what age group you're dealing with here, right? An extra nut/bolt works for senior discount... ?

Okay. I completed the install Friday and was finally able to check the fluid (the correct way) today. Everything fits great and fluid is sitting right at ‘4’ on the stick. Pay attention to the photos in the install instructions. I recommend looking at them digitally so you can zoom in. My printed set were not as easy to see the details.

*NOTE 1* To check the fluid, on my 25 minute drive to work I did some spirited driving in S mode holding gears at 4k rmp. When I got to my parking lot, I ran through P R N D for 60 seconds each then checked the fluid level while the motor was running.

*NOTE 2* I had to reroute the plug that is directly behind the dipstick mount. I ended up removing the christmas tree fitting and slit the wire wrap a little bit with a razor blade to get more slack on the wire. I fitted it back up with a zip tie to make sure it didn't jostle around.

*Note 3* Use some tape to hold the nut on the washer if you go this route to avoid dropping it into the abyss.

*Comment* only minor comment is the dip stick takes some negotiation to get fully seated as it wants to hang up the last 6”.

I am very curious about what loom you moved, I knew as a mass produced vehicle they would all be a little different, the A/C line is in a different place on every truck I've seen for example.

I think I got it, been studying the pics.

Okay, I see another important point, there is a long tab off the large steel tube running down the side, it holds the wire loom and the connectors off the tube, on Dr3wDrop's truck, that tab looks higher than others, (or at least mine and the 2 others I have installed it on) it bends really easy, you can bend it down a little and still keep the wires off that tube, that should give that loom more room.

If anybody gets in there and has the same issue as Dennis, see what the best solution might be, zip tie or bracket adj or?? then I can add it to the instructions.

Maybe just a note in the instructions to not pinch that wire and make sure it has some slack for the connection. I tried to use the laser on my flashlight to point at the connection point and what harness clip I was talking about.

Based on your install photo's you had that wire go under your bracket.

I once heard that when you have bright red text on a page of black text the red is missed because it a different color than the main body of the text

This is where I first mention it on page 2 in bright red text:

NOTE: BE SURE TO KEEP WIRE LOOMS AWAY FROM THE BRACKET AREA WHEN TIGHTENING DIPSTICK TO BRACKET.

This is where I mention it on page 4 also in bright red text:

It is important make sure the small wire loom does not get pinched between the engine bracket and the dipstick bracket.

The instructions are only 5 pages long, two out of five pages mention it, I did the best I could

Can't wait to get mine so I can see what's different. LOL Now we know the real reason Ford didn't make one, they didn't really know if it would fit every Ranger.

Retired, work is a four letter word.
It was pretty obvious from just looking at the bracket and wire looms while doing a dry fit which way they had to lay to avoid getting pinched. As an old F&E guy on aircraft you would not believe the number of cable runs we had to work with. I am very impressed with the fit and form of the extended stick and tube, a perfect fit that just dropped into place perfectly.
