Sprayed the exhause pipe with high heat paint and a exhaust tip.

Used black Plasti Dip on the Lariat Gills and the rear Oval surround.

(Fake raptor grille on order to replace the chrome grille)

Can I access the oval via the access panel on the tailgate or did ford make it some dumb process?

I dislike how much the emblem protrudes out... Was thinking of some modifcations.

There's a slot at the bottom of the oval, I used a trim removal tool to pull the oval out (it's just clipped in)

The surround is secured by 2 7mm bolts. Then just unplug the camera and you're clear.

There's an additional bar that is holding the camera to the surround, but that's just a Phillips head.

Super simple.

Not today but did schedule some fun stuff in a couple weeks.

Brake bleed
Transmission fluid check/fill
Oh and driveshaft inspection(Slip joint clunk mainly). Woohoo.

Let's see if I can get this truck to drive like a properly made vehicle should before winter.

Got some bed liner left over, May do a small project or two.

I really like the headlight assembly who produced them?, did you do likewise with the fogs?
I purchased them used from a member here. Fog lights I left alone, these new lights you can barley tell the difference when the fog lights are on.

Here’s a link to the lights. If you can find a used pair I recommend that. They also make a slightly cheaper version that has 2 light projectors instead of 3. Mine have some minor blemishes that you can tell if your less then a foot away so it’s no bother to me.

Thank you, much appreciated! I like the look of the 3 WAY Did you have a local shop do the installation or did you brave it yourself?

Installed a Nextbase 622GW front and rear dashcam. Hardwired it to an always-on fuse and it all went pretty smoothly.

first time looking at fuses
20230901_130944.jpg

start stringing front cam hardwire
20230901_131017.jpg

easy to slip it in
20230901_131350.jpg

did use the small trim tool that came with the cam
1693602828718.jpeg

pulled out the weatherstripping, ran the wire between some trim
20230901_131556.jpg

fished it up from under, lots of places to do this
20230901_131842.jpg

pulling the tree miles of cabling through
20230901_131954.jpg

fuse 29 is always on and just what I need
20230901_133508.jpg

included fuse tap seems to fit pretty well
20230901_133804.jpg

I spy a 10mm nut for a ground, hooray get to use my secret 10mm (3 wrenches and a socket in the truck, shhh) =D
20230901_134204.jpg

darn it, the 10mm holds a plastic tab up. but hey, finally an SAE fitting on Soupie!
20230901_135104.jpg

several holes in the metal to choose from, new bolt and nut with ground in place
20230901_135649.jpg

lookie here, it is a live circuit! little battery protection doohickey
20230901_135634.jpg

just tucked the massive wad of wiring to the left in a perfect spot, can even see the power light
20230901_135946.jpg

fast forward to placing the rear cam wire, it was easy along front of headliner, over top of the A pillar and in the headliner with weatherstripping rmoved. BUT ... this was the trickiest bit, getting it behind the supercab rear door latch, not hard, just a little extra pulling and pushing with the trim tool
20230901_141331.jpg

finally, clear of the latch with only 5 miles of cable to hide (not kidding, 19.6 feet!!!)
20230901_141518.jpg

dagnabbit! smashed my skull on the stoopid latch when stepping up on the side steps, talk about hurt! I kept the ice pack on during the rest of the install. thank God the latch wasn't bent! =)
20230901_143714.jpg

wire easily went into whatever pillar this is (C?). a little pry tool love made it easy
20230901_141841.jpg

I must have shoved 10 feet of cabling in the headliner. I should of just cut the dumb thing and spliced the connection back in
20230901_142237.jpg

pushed the weatherstripping back in. note I removed one tilting headrest
20230901_142352.jpg

hi-tech Sharpie line on the outside for close-enough-to-the-center mark
20230901_143233.jpg

pretty compact
20230901_143307.jpg

i likes it =)
20230901_144059.jpg

dam bed rake too high design flaw, can't see anything out the back. this has a "reversing" mode that flips the image to be like a mirror when the rear cam is selected
20230901_151328.jpg

front view with rear cam picture-in-picture. the 3 red diagonals on the right are that What3words location system
20230901_151333.jpg

screenshot of rear footage, great for looking in that too-tall-of-a-bed that we have
1693603808960.png

screenshot of front cam footage, it does have a polarizing lens, yuck, a Tacoma! =p

All in all, I like it for the first day and I need to test the parking mode and see how long it takes to wake up and set the sensitivity. It is a "collision" type of parking mode. I suppose I could always add battery backups and just leave it on at all times, but I rarely go anywhere and my biggest threats are the acorns that have dented Soupie. Bah on them nuts!

I have the front and rear cam in Kate's installed but did that with a Dongar, now I'm also going to hardwire hers after her parking lot hit and run last week. =(

And now I can't wait to become a YouTube influencer when I start filming Soupie's dump runs! I know, it's mean of me to tease you with this, but your eager and enthusiastic anticipation will pay off. Just be patient and you will be rewarded greatly! And, unlike some missing forum members, I promise to remember all you little people. =D

Now you'll be able to keep visual records of your dump runs, and to make sure no one has snuck any garbage in Soupie's bed when you weren't looking !!!

I did it myself, by no means a car person but mechanical. I bought a new grille too because you have to remove the grill in the process and I like the lariat style if better. Bought that off Facebook for 100$. I think it took me 3ish hours for the whole thing.
