Was watching some Overlanding vids this past weekend, stumbled on this dudes page @OFFTHEGRIND (not promoting him or anything) Noticed he went from a Taco to a Bronco, then I started watching Bronco vids lol. Bronco is waaaaay out of my price range and would probably not fit in my garage (definitely not with any type of roof rack) but I was impressed with the off road capabilities of the Badlands w/ the Sasquatch package. Never paid attention to the Broncos as they're just too pricey. But out of the box that's a very capable set up from the factory. Anyone switch from a Ranger to a Bronco for this reason?

We have both a Ranger and a Bronco Badlands Sasquatch.

Our Ranger is built up as our Overlanding/Camping rig and we take the Bronco on more technical trails and group day-runs. The Bronco could definitely be built out for Overlanding, however, for our purposes, I prefer the truck with the bed rack for the camping rig. We have taken both out and set up Base Camp with the Ranger and explored in the Bronco which is great as well.

Very capable out of the box. (Especially in the Sasquatch configuration)

I went on Fords website earlier and looked at the specs on both the Bronco and Ranger. Bronco 2dr (w/ hardtop) height was 71.9" and the 4 dr (w/ soft top) was 73.0" which is odd that there's a difference. My XLT Ranger shows a cab height of 71.1" so that offthegrind youtube guy was wrong ?. One of his vids he said his Badlands was like 82" stock. So in stock form one would fit in my garage, now I would just need to resolve the funds issues ?

....then the tie rod snaps... I won't get into the leaking issues
Yea I've seen those issues mentioned, as well as cracked hardtops. I love my Ranger and seriously doubt I get rid of it. My R32 will go before the Ranger does. Just wish it had a few extra things like the Bronco has.

Can't speak for the Bronco, but I can say that last year I remember taking my 93 Pathfinder up Hancock Pass in Colorado with @CO2Ranger following behind in his Ranger. At that time my Pathfinder was on worn out sagging suspension (by about 1 inch lower than factory) with some worn out 31's(factory size) and seemed to handle the pass very well compared to the Ranger following. That said the Ranger had the Fox Leveling kit(2.0) with Global leafs and had the factory locker.

As much as I did enjoy the Ranger, I feel the shorter wheel base of the Pathfinder has suited me better (along with some other things). I'm sure those who run the Bronco vs a Pickup(regardless of manufacturer) most likely feel the same

All in all it comes down to what you feel more comfortable with.

One video that gives a nice general comparison of the two.

To keep it simple I won't list all the issues with the Ranger I have read on this forum ,lol.

My 2dr Bronco Badlands has been great, as most of the ones out there have been. The 2.7 is a winner and I still don't know why they did not offer it in the Ranger.

I picked it up in May after a 1020 day wait from reservation. Had price protection so paid 48k and now MSRP for a 2024 2Dr BL high pkg is $58k !

I really like the Broncos. And if I had the money to have that 12-15 vehicle sized garage I've always wanted I would have a Bronco. But in my fiscal reality it's a Ranger for me. First, I am never going to put a vehicle bought with my money in extreme off road situations. Any offroad I have done or will do the Tremor can handle. Second, and probably ranked #1, I prefer a truck for it's ability to handle truck stuff. On a fairly regular basis I need a truck for home project stuff be it hauling lumber, mulch, landscape rocks, etc. Or just hauling the kayeks out for some weekend fun.

Now after I finally hit the lottery I'll update you about that new blue Bronco sitting in my big ass garage.

We have both. I don’t have enough time behind the wheel of the Ranger yet (just got it a month ago). But, I love my manual transmission Black Diamond with 28k behind the wheel and plenty of off-roading. I’ve put a decent amount of work into it myself (including Sasquatch suspension) and it can handle almost anything I throw at it in the Northeast. I’d eventually like to add a front locker - but, for $40k (in 2021) it’s incredibly capable and I wouldn’t spend the extra $10-20k for a Sasquatch Badlands. If Badlands didn’t have the horrid orange interior accents, I perhaps would have sprung for the non-Sasquatch Manual Badlands.

They look good together!

what issues? I haven't seen any on here. just some jack ass who had his ranger repoed and nissan was the only company that would finance so jack ass came on here to start stoopid thread about "I can't reach in the bed WWWAAAA ? " remember that? maybe I should go resurrect it so Dave will come back

the ranger is the red headed step child of the F.O.R.D. line up. that's why all trim levels get the same engine and power

Great color, which is no longer available going forward ?. At least that's what was said in one of the Bronco vids I watched regarding the 2024 model.

I bought my Ranger because I wanted a truck. If I wanted a SUV then I'd look at the Bronco...although I'm not a big fan of them....plus too many soccer moms driving them hahah!
