There are a crap ton of these up by the cottage. The wind from the west off Lake Huron is fairly reliable. Lots of controversy and angst over these but they really are very big, impressive installations. I questioned the bird strikes and my brother said the tips of the wings are moving at about 200 mph. Pfft, I said, without considering the math.I knew they were big, but I was still surprised when I got close.
Also I didn't hear any terrible noises, see any birds slaughtered or feel like my soul was being ripped out of my body.

Early the other evening, the sun was low and just at the right angle and I could see the shadow of the blade of one sweeping down over the front of a farm house and across the road in front of me and man, it was moving - fast! I guess he was right.
But, yeah, didn’t see any birds slaughtered. ?
