Granted I have access to plenty of trails, a locker which I do have and good tires can go a long way. Till I start having trouble in the current truck will I look at an upgrade. If I do end up selling the track car it's better to put that towards paying the truck off or investing it vs just jumping to a more expensive truck. Plus I really do like my ranger :)

I’ve rarely needed my 4x4 off roading in this truck. If you’ve got a locker you’d be better off upgrading your ranger.

yup got the factory locker. Ranger is pretty setup ATM. 5100s all around 2 inch in front, 1 in the rear. global ranger leafs, tremor bump stops. still has a rake but with bed rack and RTT should be pretty level. Honestly just needs new tires and it's pretty well set.

Looks like we are probably off roading in the same areas based on your profile. I’ve been super impressed with everything this truck handles in 2 wheel drive.

I just looked at a Z71 and a Trail Boss Colorado.

The Trail Boss had several dealer "upgrades" and it stickered the same as the Z71 which was MUCH nicer.

I initially thought I would be interested in a Trail Boss version, but the one I looked at changed my mind.

While I am sure that the interior bits are the same between the two trims, the plastic felt thinner/cheaper in the Trail Boss with some pieces having molding flash still on them.

I didn't notice that in the Z71.

Even though the Z71 has the front spoiler which would likely turn into a trail squeegee pretty quickly, I would still get it.

The midsize market is about to be very hot with competition soon.

With the new Tacoma, new Ranger, new Colorado, and possibly a new Ram midsize soon duking it out for buyers, maybe decent deals will even make a return.

The $5k markups on the Colorados at our local dealer are already gone.

I looked at a mid level trim colorado and I'm rather impressed, plus I get a government employee discount so it brought the price down to a rather attractive number.

We'll see.
