Nope, and it doesn't matter. We are all in, regardless.can't wait did anyone get a cost for the dipstick ?
We're participating in something BIG I'm tellin ya!?Nope, and it doesn't matter. We are all in, regardless.
No, just the hose, they make all of B&M and Moroso's dipstick hoses, so my 60 being behind 600 other hoses, I had to amuse myself with the thought of me being in line behind B&M.Mike, are you referring to an outer hose covering ? I have a B&M and the outside is just the braded sheath...no outer cover....
The positives of having this dipstick option greatly outway the price is how I see it. I plan on keeping an eye on my fluid and occasionally removing fluid thru the dipstick and not letting it get dirty. No, just the hose, they make all of B&M and Moroso's dipstick hoses, so my 60 being behind 600 other hoses, I had to amuse myself with the thought of me being in line behind B&M.
You guys are great, and have been exactly what has driven me along, Thanks!
Uh, way back in some post I had a target of $150, crept up to $169, hard to figure, you cant factor in all the start up expense, just the cost per part when you finally get going.
Very similar to my plans....only at 16,000 miles now and change planned at 20,000.My PPE Deep pan is going on when I add the dip stick, as a well as a new filter. I intend to drain from below and fill from the dipstick tube. I'm doing this at 20K miles. Depending on what I find when I open it up will determine the change interval going forward.
The beauty of the new dip stick is that I can see the color of the fluid and adjust the change time interval accordingly.
to Mike for his perseverance in making a quality component.I actually purchased the B&M dipstick but never installed it. I was just getting ready to go foreward when Fitzmotor announced his plans... and put my plans on hold. My Ranger is sitting in garage over the lift ready to have the oil and filter changed, the PPE pan and Dipstick installed.Very similar to my plans....only at 16,000 miles now and change planned at 20,000.
Have the B&M, but it's kind of a guess as to the stick markings....however, Mike's is pre-marked with the proper fluid level markings....much easier to fill to proper level.
Bigto Mike for his perseverance in making a quality component.
I don't see why you'd have to wait on the dipstick to swap out the pan.I actually purchased the B&M dipstick but never installed it. My registration and taxes are coming up soon and i need to have the truck inspected before I can renew. So I may have to change the oil and filter and then wait for the dipstick.
That's kind of my plan. I've got the pan, filter and ULV waiting in my garage. Just did my 30K oil change. Will change dipstick ASAP (when I can get it ?In my case I'll be installing the dipstick ASAP and the pan in another 20K miles or so.

I drive my Ranger like a Grandpa anyway so I'm not worried about to much contaminants. I've considered replacing the pan with the aluminum one, it just depends on how easy removing fluid thru the dipstick goes. Checking the fluid level is high on my list of things to check!!!!!
I'm pretty sure Mike answered that question some time ago with a YES.Question - are we able to fill the trans from the dipstick opening? Like we wouldn't need to get under the truck, remove it and fill normally?
Oh sweet, apologies for missing that. So excited for these to go into production!I'm pretty sure Mike answered that question some time ago with a YES.
I have used my B&M to add fluid to mine, so pretty sure you can with Mike's set up.
Just need a funnel with a very narrow spout.
We used to have bi-annual 'safety' inspections, now it's just smog checks. None for the 1st 5 years on new vehicles, then bi-annual.I actually purchased the B&M dipstick but never installed it. If I am late it is a 15% penalty. FWIW, I hate the annual inspection... it is nothing more than a scam. Just take my money OK and leave me alone!
