I was doing the 1st oil change on my wife's 23 ra ger and got my Phillips screw driver and needle nose pliers to start cussing those cheap plastic screw anchors that you must take out to move the rubber flap down to gain access to the oil filter. I looked in the fender well and there were 3 nice bolts that takes a 10mm to take off, instead of the crappy riviot things. 1 improvement that made the truck better instead of taking good features away like they have since 19. There's hope.

I replaced my screw in type with a push pin type (still plastic) and it works 1000 times better than the stock stuff. Got them in a kit from Amazon.

Neat they added a bolt instead.

They would use the socket most lost.....

are the holes in the frame threaded or are there nuts welded?

picture of the bolts and maybe part number would be awesome if I could just thread the holes and go

might be time to trade in the '19 to shave a half hour off the oil changes

You all think this is an improvement, but the '19s have unlimited miles on oil changes because everything in the engine is coated in some space molecule found on Mars.
We don't have to worry about screws, bolts or push pins as we have no need to change oil. We smell it every few thousand miles and that's it.

Maybe it's just me...been dealing with the push-pin type of fasteners for years on several vehicles. I find them to be fine as long as you take the time to remove them properly.
Coming up on oil change #6 on Truck, and still using the original push-pins. When they finally do give out I have plenty of others to replace them....bought a multi-purpose assortment of different types years ago on Amazon....500 piece set ran around $15 bucks.
