My Daughter and her Fiance and in the market for a truck.
This is available at the Ram dealer she works at. Traded in on a big bad boy Ram.
19000km, 2021, warranty remaining.
Her price will be 48K as a dealer employee.
All taco jokes and ribbing aside, good deal?
Too far for me to travel to look at it for her

For that much, as an employee, she can't get a good/better deal on a Ram ????
Even one a year or 2 older should cost less than a truck named after a popular Taco Bell food.....

Have her sit/drive this then sit/drive pretty much anything else before she spends that much money. I found the Toyota both uncomfortable and weak, and uninspiring inside.

But that's just me.

Shes been hooked on a Taco for as long as I can remember. Its her dream truck.
Where ever it went wrong in her upbringing, I just don't know.
But I have always learned, support your loved ones, right or wrong.
If I feel the need to argue about the qualities of a Taco, I can always come here for that fix.
Besides, if they buy it, my xmas gift buying will be easy.
A roadside repair kit, maybe those seat jackers. Heck even a CAA membership for the endless tows she might need.

The seating position in the Tacoma is just strange. It's more like a car. My buddy has a 2022 and he added risers under the front seat mounts to fix it a bit.

However, 48k for a two-year-old midsize truck seems high.

I apparently missed the "km" and Canada in your profile. That's about 36k USD. That's about what used Rangers are going for near me. I'm sure the dealer is trying to get their money back out of whatever they gave extra in trade for that RTT.

Is it a good deal?!

Well you are asking individuals that prefer Ford........

I will also state that even with the racks and Roof Top Tent you can get a better deal else where......

What happened there is what we like to call "Toyota Tax"!! It happens when a Toyota gets OVERPRICED!!

Understand your situation...
If that's what she wants, by all means, support her. If you end up trying to get her into something else...she won't be happy, and will blame you for her ending up with a truck she didn't want.
After all, if it makes her happy, go for it. If it's her "dream" than don't destroy it.

The alternate name for this site is "Tacos are garbage and so are those who drive them". I hope you can get a rational answer here.:crackup:
I kinda thought maybe I had given a rational answer, based on my personal experience before I bought my first 5G Ranger.

But if the Taco is his daughter's dream truck, it'll probably make no difference what he tells her or what any of us says. People want what they want.

And sometimes we just need to let them have it.

I see you are in Canada so looks like 48k Canadian is approximately equal to 36k USD. Factor in the accessories I see, if they are valuable to your daughter, and it seems like a reasonable price in the current market.

Edit: For reference, that truck with that low of miles without the accessories will sell for 42k here in the southeastern part of the U.S. in less than a day on a dealer lot. Taco fever is strong in these parts. I got lunch earlier at Zaxby's and there were 4 Tacos, 1 F150 and my lone Ranger in the parking lot.

I just want to make sure on the price. I know its not my place to beat the taco down, it does that well enough on its own. But if its checking her boxes, including price, then that's all I need to know.
They're offering it to her $7000cdn less than what they plan on putting it on the lot for.
Was just wondering, because I've never valued a Taco or its add-ons, if that's fair, a bargain already, or if it can be negotiated further down.
Its kinda Taco territory where she is as well, so I don't expect it to last long even at the dealers price to the public.
I'm a classic low-baller which is my toxic trait.

The current add ons that it has can be nice if they are going to be used. If they won't be used then it will be considered useless.

avid tent campers. So its an upgrade in many ways.
Their current SUV will only take them so far down logging roads and up creek beds. Add in the dog, and their gear, a pickup suits their lifestyle better than an SUV.

If it's a fair price and she's happy with it, then I'd say, back her on her "dream" truck. As an employee she probably has access to what the dealer allowed on it as a trade in, and if their giving it to her without any markup, it would seem to be a fair price.
