Was that Toquerville Falls? I did that one on my '19 Ranger and it was a great trail out to the waterfall that's in the middle of the desert. A lot of locals go out there and jump in and cool off in the summer then go back out off roading.

I agree with the SxS and if I were to buy something else that would be it. You can have way more fun with those, not worry about scratching it all up and still get a decent used one for under $15K and sometimes less.

Yup, looking back, it was May 2025. My wife has all the good photos, water was not flowing very much. It was pretty rutted up probably from monsoons and SxS. We were up there with our friends SxS in Feb 2024 and I did not remember the rock area so bad. I remember when I first researched it in 2021 or so, subie crossovers could have taken it but man, would be tough in the condition it was in for one to have the clearance.

Leaving in the dark was slower, kissed my side step leaving, didnt damage it but thats how bad it was. Came across another Ranger Tremor on the way out too ironically that came in on a fork in the trail. Family loved it outside of my wife not liking the rough parts.

That’s my feeling about the Ranger Raptor too. Yes it’s a beautiful truck but unless you’re going to take it off road and use it to its full potential it’s (IMHO) a waste of money. I have a paid of Tremor which will do almost 95% of what a Raptor will do (and I take it off road) and can’t see myself doing anything different if I had a Raptor except draining my bank account more. Yeah the interior is sweet and I’m sure more comfortable but my Tremor suite me well so again not any big reason for me to change. I can put that money to much better use going on trips which I’ll have more fun at and will give me way better memories.

It’s kind of like that thread I made with the Raptor I saw Monday at the airport. It was really nice and had a bunch of extras on it but you could tell by the tires he added he’s most likely never going off road with it. To me it seems like such a waste of money but it’s not my money and I really don’t care what others do with theirs. Funny because even when I was younger and all my friends were buying all this crazy aftermarket stuff for their motorcycles (carbon fiber add ons, colored grips etc...) I never did. Sure I’d add an exhaust and power commander and a few other things but I was never one to ā€œdeckā€ mine all out. To each their own that’s what makes the world interesting and keeps others in business.

Man Dave hit it on the head.
People buying raptors, zr2s, bronco Sasquatch badlands, Tacoma whatever their super off-road pack is.
95-97% will never see anything other a gravel parking lot.
Looking back, I bought this tremor and it’s never seen anything but West Virginia dirt roads.
It’s funny over at 6g, the whole site is pretty much raptor talk. Guys bolting shit to them and then not driving them to keep the miles down. šŸ˜‚
The Tacoma is similar.
Hell, there was a guy here that wanted a trailer to put things in because he didn’t want to scratch his bed liner!

I'm very OCD but even I buy things and use them for their intended use! Sure I try and keep them as nice as I can and I don't want to scratch or dent it but sometimes it happens and it's not the end of the world. I mean if you have a bed liner not much is really going to happen and if it gets scratched or gouged oh well it's the bed. lol

I think the only vehicle I really "babied" was my Vette. It only had 1,500 miles on it when I bought it and I knew the previous owner well. Heck I think know he was worse than me. He never drove it in the winter or when it rained and I did the same. At the time I had my truck, van and motorcycle and I only bought it because he sold it cheap (he was moving out of state) and I always wanted one. I don't criticize or care what others do with their vehicles but I do think it's strange at times but it's their money not mine.
