Collision avoidance saved my arse today !!

Cruising along, 45-50, watching a motorcycle in my rear view mirror....BEEP BEEP BEEP !!!! I look forward, see a car turning (no turn signal), I jump on the brakes, swerved a little to avoid, went onto the shoulder a little, and got around him/her. (wipes sweat from brow) I would have smashed that cars butt if it wasn't for the collision avoidance system. Got lucky today....

Glad it worked and saved your butt Mike. This is the first vehicle I've owned with all these features and it's nice to have them. The only thing I don't like about the C/A is that I get a lot of false alarms with it. It's mostly other vehicles just turning to the right (it never happens to the left) and my dash will light up. Other than that I love it and glad I have it.

I noticed that when I'll be using cruise control with the distance meter set to 1 bar and if someone suddenly merges with no turn signal, I'll feel the truck slow down or even brake which in your case saved you and your truck!
The coffee symbol has saved my butt as well. I was driving from NY state back to MA on the pike and I must have been starting to do a wiggle in my lane one too many times. Nothing like a hot, salty french fry late at night when you're tired!

Mike, that said car not using their turn signal didn't happen to be a 30-county Nebraska vehicle was it??.....they're bad here for not using signals and they're everywhere!
