After seeing @dmjr77 recent post about his transmission problem I noticed this on todays FA. While it's only two more people filing a lawsuit it's still showing that some are having very similar problems with their. I hate lawyers (no offense to anyone here lol) and lawsuits but something needs to be done for those who really have problems with theirs.

Sorry guys but to me that tranny felt like a ticking time bomb. I'm not really sorry I don't have that truck anymore, if it means I don't have to worry about the tranny shitting the bed.

I'm not a guy who joins class action suits, but I hope Ford is held accountable.

Yes. LOL.

There have been 330,915 rangers sold since 2019...the percentage of issues to units sold is still small. We all have a tendency to forget that sometimes $shit just happens. Everything can break....it's mechanical. Just sucks when it happens to you/us.

It's easy to say this when yours runs perfect. My '19 ran perfect too and so far my '23 is even better, much soother than my '19. But I still believe that's there's something wrong with them and they should be looked at and fixed.

But when you're the one having the problem and Ford (or any manufacturer) doesn't help you it is an issue. It might not be worthy of a class action lawsuit (yet) but there's more and more having problems as they get up there in mileage. What's worse is we're not even talking high mileage as these are all under 100,000 miles.

Hard to say.
To those who have transmission problems, they want their voice to be heard and we all understand that.
Problem I see is ANY defect with the trans. (there's many) get all lumped into one giant complaint by a vocal minority. Its now become a generalization of the trans. as a whole, when we know from some googlefoo, that there's been numerous singular faults.
Maybe if my trans. shits the bed one day my opinion will change, but until then the numbers don't support a majority. Therefore, its subjective.

Good. Ford needs a slap in the face.
Hope they get sued more, maybe then they'll actually turn out a vehicle worth a damn.

Can't wait to get my 25 cent check...I'd probably turn that into a 2 hour drive to the bank and end up costing me $25...
That trip is when your transmission would poop on you.

Two questions. 1) Why do so many who HATE Ford own one of their products? I wouldn't own a VW, BMW, or a Fiat.
2)Does anyone here remember when any big 3 transmission getting past 80,000 miles was a minor miracle? You Know, the 50's 60's and 70's?

When I purchased my 2005 Ranger, the Ford service techs were trading in their Rangers for the Honda Ridgeline. Many of them hated how hard/sloppy the Ranger transmission was compared to the Honda.

My 2005 does have a firm shift, but has been trouble free.

Spend the money on a new transmission from a different company when time comes it will be cheaper
How many companies do you think manufacture transmissions that fit our Rangers, or F150?
I'm deeply curious about what the "Life Threatening" safety issues are.
everyone states them, but so far I haven't seen it explained on exactly what or why its going to kill you.
LOL, every time you get in a vehicle can be life threatening.

I am not about to sue Ford, but I was successful with a "Serious Safety Issue" lemon law on my Gladiator. On the Gladiator it wouldn't go into full on death wobble, but the steering wheel would shake violently at 70+ mph and the only way to recover was to slow to 45 mph or less. On a major Atlanta interstate this is definitely not safe. Somewhat similarly, on my Ranger I have experienced a complete loss of power to the ground when accelerating from a stop. When this happens and you are pulling out into traffic or across traffic the natural instinct is to give it more gas and try to make it go so you don't feel like you are about to get hit. Unfortunately, this leads to a situation where when it decides it wants to put the power back to the ground you are now way over-revved (if thats a word) and the vehicle takes off unexpectedly. In my opinion, this is a pretty unsafe situation. But, as you eluded to this is not a situation where the transmission itself is going to harm you. I believe it's more the transmission will put you in an unsafe situation due to erratic behavior. Just my thoughts, I'm definitely not a lawyer.
"on my Ranger I have experienced a complete loss of power to the ground when accelerating from a stop."

That can be any of 100 things causing loss of power, not necessarily a trans problem.

Let me take a guess. Oversized tires? By oversized tires, I mean non-stock.

I agree with this but imagine if Ford actually fixed the problem when you took your truck to a dealership. No more need for a vocal minority, just satisfied customers who had $hit happen and got it resolved. The lack of resolution from Ford is what leads someone who paid $50K on something that doesn't work right move to the legal system.

Trust me, if lawyers didn’t see dollar signs they wouldn’t care less about your problems. Just the way it is, something’s will never change…
