After seeing @dmjr77 recent post about his transmission problem I noticed this on todays FA. While it's only two more people filing a lawsuit it's still showing that some are having very similar problems with their. I hate lawyers (no offense to anyone here lol) and lawsuits but something needs to be done for those who really have problems with theirs.

This newly filed lawsuit – Vangel, et al., v. Ford Motor Company – was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, with two plaintiffs being represented by Milberg Coleman Bryson Phillips Grossman, The Carlson Law Firm, P.C., Wallace Miller LLP, and Brent Coon & Associates. As is the case with other lawsuits related to this particular gearbox, the plaintiffs allege that their vehicles experience jerking, lunging, hesitation, clunking, loss of power, and gear slipping that comes directly from the transmission’s operation.

The lawsuit names a host of models affected by this problem – the 2017-2023 Ford F-150, 2018-2023 Ford Expedition, 2018-2023 Ford Mustang, 2019-2023 Ford Ranger, and 2018-2023 Lincoln Navigator. The lawsuit was filed by two owners who claim that Ford refuses to replace these defective transmissions, even though they present owners with “life-threatening” safety issues.

There's usually a lawyer or two willing to do this and get paid later. I don't know if that's the answer or if it'll even help. It may just bring enough attention (Ford Authority is now coving it) to Ford to actually do something about it. ?‍♂

If this goes class action we might all get 100 bucks. That is what the wife got for her Chevy with the might murder you ignition switch issue....
Probably $25.00 with inflation! :curse:

Sadly, Class action suits only benefit the lawyers. I think it's better to file individually or a small group like these two did.

It’ll be easy if they win. Lawyers will take others on contingent fees. They’ll front the costs and get paid when Ford settles.

Can't wait to get my 25 cent check...I'd probably turn that into a 2 hour drive to the bank and end up costing me $25...

I keep reading how other Ford owners are dealing with this, specifically Mustangs and F150's and we're a little bit the red headed stepchild. The SUV owners aren't doing much extreme stuff to want/require changes to their transmission except they settle for Ford's software updates it seems. Failures follow the manufacturer process according to warranty and with a lot of leases owners don't always care.

Not primarily for the transmission (well, not originally) I got the extended warranty. I can't imagine a replacement fluid pan and our pending transmission dipstick would cause Ford to reject a claim but who knows - they may decide the tune caused a failures even though it's BS.

The challenge becomes finding a reputable local transmission shop and the specific parts to swap along with the ability to do the related ECM programming .

I'm deeply curious about what the "Life Threatening" safety issues are.
everyone states them, but so far I haven't seen it explained on exactly what or why its going to kill you.
I am not about to sue Ford, but I was successful with a "Serious Safety Issue" lemon law on my Gladiator. On the Gladiator it wouldn't go into full on death wobble, but the steering wheel would shake violently at 70+ mph and the only way to recover was to slow to 45 mph or less. On a major Atlanta interstate this is definitely not safe. Somewhat similarly, on my Ranger I have experienced a complete loss of power to the ground when accelerating from a stop. When this happens and you are pulling out into traffic or across traffic the natural instinct is to give it more gas and try to make it go so you don't feel like you are about to get hit. Unfortunately, this leads to a situation where when it decides it wants to put the power back to the ground you are now way over-revved (if thats a word) and the vehicle takes off unexpectedly. In my opinion, this is a pretty unsafe situation. But, as you eluded to this is not a situation where the transmission itself is going to harm you. I believe it's more the transmission will put you in an unsafe situation due to erratic behavior. Just my thoughts, I'm definitely not a lawyer.
