Sounds like they either trolled forums, looking for the standard common complaints, or they just used google and cherry picked what they could to make a boring article.
But they're right though, there's a lot of garbage from Fords stable lately.

what the.... ok..

" The 4-cylinder produced a respectable 270 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque. " -- alright, respectable is such a backhanded compliment word to use here. i usually chuckle at the fanboi posts on forums ("i SaW a TaCoMa WiTh BiG tIrEs, He PrOlLy HaS a SmAlL pEeN" posts), but the language here in this sentence really mad me think the author went into this writing with a bias. the ranger's 2.3L engine is more than respectable. the truck has flaws, but the power figures on the engine are absolutely not one of them. you gotta give credit where credit is due, c'mon.

" However, some models had niggling build quality issues and teething problems like excessive wind noise in the cabin, misaligned rear passenger door, and door panel noises. As for the suspension, some owners complained about the Ranger leaning more to the driver's side. " -- ....... so basically, take it for a test drive. if it drives and sounds like shite, move on. like wtf, drive it and read the carfax. this is simple stuff. this isn't stuff like mechanicals that may or may not have problems at some point in the future. this is obvious stuff that you should see on day 1. which really eliminates it from being a problem in the case of considering a used vehicle (the whole point of that article).

do we think this may have actually been written by an AI? it almost seems like it.

Yep - an AI who crawled this forum before the transmission posts over the past 6 months.

Just checked.

This article hasn't killed my trade-in value yet.

It's still several thousand more than I paid.

Great, the first one is us, the reasons are pretty weak, they did not even mention the transmission.
Or the lack of a damper. Or the horrible design flaw - the bed rake!

I need a new bed rake pic, gonna wear this one out with all its reposting! =p

That's why the '22, and possible the '23, are the smart Ranger owner's choices.

Ford fixed the 2019 issues by removing all the offending parts.

So glad Race Red was available ... =p

At least you got tires, wheels and suspension on yours. A lot more than we got with our '23's.

Yep. There are sites that just hate Fords, period. Take Motor Biscuit for example. They'll say something like. "I didn't like the radio button on the Ranger. And although the Tacoma doesn't tow as much, the cab is cramped, and power is lacking, we saw that Top Gear video on the unkillable Hilux. Even though we can't get the Hilux in North America, the Tacoma is better."
