Takeoffs from my 2019 Lariat with the chrome appearance package. Wheels are undamaged and straight. Absolutely nothing wrong with them. I simply went with a -1 option. I bought the truck from Carmax, and they put the tires on. They're PrinX 265/60R-18 all season M+S, with only a few hundred...
I have Forscan, and I'd appreciate knowing which setting turns off the 'learning', too. While I appreciate good mileage, I live in the mountains. Going up a grade (which is ALL THE TIME) The whole 'push on the throttle, nothing', push more on the throttle, nothing', 'mash the pedal, "Oh, you...
Yep. There are sites that just hate Fords, period. Take Motor Biscuit for example. They'll say something like. "I didn't like the radio button on the Ranger. And although the Tacoma doesn't tow as much, the cab is cramped, and power is lacking, we saw that Top Gear video on the unkillable...
I had three requirements when buying a truck. 1. Had to have good towing numbers. 2. Needed to be off road capable. 3. Had to fit in my garage.
Well, #3 made it mid-sized trucks. Frankly, full sized trucks are GIGANTIC. Awesome, for sure, but huge. Factor #1, the Chevy Colorado was the...
The fuel tank size IS a bummer. But have others have mentioned, the fuel tank is still larger than our bladders. ? I often travel in remote areas of the Mountain and Pacific time zones, so fuel stops have to be carefully coordinated, and range anxiety is sometimes a thing. If I'm camping 40...
I have a very similar setup to this. '19 Lariat SuperCrew, towing a Winnebago 2306BHS with 6000lb. GVW. (This is a 7' wide trailer, not an 8', so there's less frontal area) I knew this was going to be at the upper end of the limits of the truck, so I had to set up everything very carefully. I...
I have to say, when I bought my Ranger, I had a few requirements. First, it had to have 4wd. Secondly, it had to fit in my garage. Third, it had to be able to tow a travel trailer since we'd sold our class C RV.
I was a bit apprehensive towing a travel trailer with a mid-sized truck. I had...
Ford is really terrible at keeping secrets. I looked at street view for Google Maps outside of the Wayne Assembly Plant, and there it was.
The SIX door Ranger!
(haha. I'm sure its just an artifact from Goog stitching pictures together)
Mrs. and I took delivery of our '22 Winnebago Micro Minnie 2306BHS today. Advertised as 4500lbs. dry, with 495lb. tongue weight. 25' long. Some impressions:
1. The Ranger makes some really good power. The dealer was in metro Denver, and we towed up to our home at 8400'. So, an elevation...
Or, they'd tell all their friends and you'd have every squirrel within 10 miles.
We have a bunch of higher predators around here to make sure the squirrel population stays in check.
Be careful what you wish for. Missus and I just had a solar array put on the house, and took a loan for it. Now, we were planning on selling our RV and buying a travel trailer this spring to tow behind the Ranger. So, we did something stupid and started looking around at trailers. Lo and...
Inside the garage. We get waaaay too much snow here in the Rockies for it to live outside, and I don't want to spend an extra 30 minutes getting the snow off, defrosting, and warming it up before leaving for work.
My neighbor is one of those guys who leaves $80k worth of vehicles in his...
Are you planning on getting a rooftop tent? If so, consider a Snugtop. They sell a 'Sportsmen's Package' which includes a reinforced roof able to support 500lbs.
Pass. I'm sure it's awesome, but holy cow what you're going to pay. I could have a brand new Ranger Raptor and still have SEVENTY FIVE GRAND left over.
There are anti theft/anti tamper bolts available. They simply require a specialty bit to tighten or remove them.
Remember, things don't have to be theft proof, just inconvenient as hell. Most thieves are looking for a quick score. If it costs too much time or work, they'll move on.
Since Ford uses the Redarc controller, I suppose this is related. I went to Levittown Ford to look up the cost of the part, and here's what I saw:

Does it appear that the part has changed? It looks like there are connectible ends, and...
