The views were getting better but now I'm at 11,600'. ?

At the top was another chair lift. ?‍♂

I spotted another couple over to the far right and hiked up a little further with them. The trail was on the outside rim of the slope all along but they said it was pretty bad in spots. Still a lot of snow and mud and very rocky so it was better we took the slope like we did.

The double mountain on the left is called Saddle Mountain.

IMG_0972.jpg

A little snow on this trail but it was melting and easy tow all through.

Now up even higher there's some better views. This is Treasure Mountain.

This is a cool picture! Checkout the ice bowl.

The trail got really easy up here but I'm over 1 mile away from where I left Annie so I turned around here.

Walking back down I spotted this tower and figured I'd check it out.

Once up there guess what's next to it? Another ski lift. lol There was still a lot of snow getting to it and I didn't feel like hiking through it. Plus now I'm just under 12,000' and still had another mile just to get back to where Annie was waiting. One good thing was you get full cell reception up here because she called me wondering where the heck I was.

When I use to ski we'd alway just hit the black diamond trails up north. They look much worse when there's no snow on them. o_O

At the top of Wolf Creek Pass is the Continental Divide. There's several trail leading out from there and it wasn't easy but I talked Annie intone last hike today. Good thing we're leaving tomorrow or you all might be reading my obituary if we were staying and she had to go on another hike. lol

There's no trail signs just 3 trails leading in all different directions. We were talking a a couple who said they've done this several times and we followed them for a while. Little did I know they had no clue on where the first trail started either and we took off from them after a while. We made our way over to what I know now was Wolf Creek Ski area and came out on one of the slopes. It was easier to just walk up the slope than to try and go back and follow the trail up along the ridge.

At this point I still had no idea we were on the ski slope and didn't know this was a chairlift until we got closer.

Whew, another damper bludgeoning avoided but I’m sure no fingerprints would have been found, only 303 residue…

Happy 4th Dave, thanks for sharing your journey!! Awesome pictures. I hope Annie isn’t worse for the wear. Great fun following you guys..
Happy 4th of July Andy and everyone else!! :flag:

I'm sure if we had another day here Annie would've found a way to get my damper off and bludgeoned me to death with it. :piggybank: She's tired and her knee is swollen today so I guess I made her do to much these past 4 days.

I can ski the black diamonds but at my age I can pass them by too! Snow conditions will dictate where I go.

Dang it's hot here! It sure is depressing watching the outside temps rise from 51* in Pagosa up to 108* when we hit the valley. ?

I even waved to Chris @Chris M as I went by the Dewey exit on the I-17.?

Thanks Brother!

I'm glad you (and everyone else) enjoyed them as much as we did being there. It was another great trip and we feel very blessed to be able to do these and see so many amazing places in this great country! ? Now. where to go next year?

Good thing we ended up staying those 4 extra days. I can't even tell the house was redone except for the cool new basement. There's a padded room off to the side with all sorts hanging gear, chains, leather suites and what looks to be a head and arm shackle.:oops: Larry @Blue Streak do you know anything about this??:bandit:
