They're called azipods. Pretty much self-contained power plants that can turn almost 360 degrees. I learned on our last Alaka cruise.I didn't until looking at a very detailed model of our ship that was displayed on the ship, they use some sort of propeller turbine thing, very cool science-y stuff
The water is beautiful!![]()

She had a blast. Especially when she found out she could get free ice cream 24 hours a day. Multiple 2-3 am trips to the ice cream stand were made ?Great memories for ya’ll.![]()
Yeah, my husband would love that!?She had a blast. Especially when she found out she could get free ice cream 24 hours a day. Multiple 2-3 am trips to the ice cream stand were made ?
That's where'd I'd be too! If you thought I was sick from eating all those cookies the other night you ain't seen nothing yet. Ice cream is my Kryptonite. I'd have broke that ice cream machine by the second night. And paid for it dearly! ?She had a blast. Especially when she found out she could get free ice cream 24 hours a day. The kiddo and I are total opposites, I hate all things sweet but will eat my body weight in mashed/scalloped or julienne potatoes she would rather eat a shoe rather than potatoesThat's where'd I'd be too! The Alaskan cruise is on my long-term plan it looks amazing. I'm 8 years away from being eligible for retirement and we may go then. I'm sure we'd all love to see pictures from your trip!I love cruising. It is amazing how little time you spend in your cabin except at night. Food and drinks are good, but quickly get you full. Be ready to workout to get them back. Excursions are good, but so is just hanging out on the ship, even while in port. I am doing Alaska in a week, and will do at least three excursions. Doing the eastern Carribian in March next year.
First year of retirement.
