Very true! We have been on two Caribbean and an Alaskan cruise on big ships. This was by far more relaxing. You could get from one side of the ship to the other, or from the bow to the stern in seconds. Yet it had all the amenities. And it was all-inclusive, even the airfare. Oh, and no kids!Great pictures! Spending a week must of been really fun going through different areas and seeing some great sights. We've only done one river cruise and it was just a dinner cruise for about 4 hours but it was a good time. I'm not one who likes ocean cruises but this I might be interested in. Personally I think you see more doing these than being stuck on a huge ship with nothing but ocean around.
One evening we drank a bottle of champagne on our veranda while sailing through Alabama. The scenery was incredible! (They gave us a bottle of champagne, a bottle of red wine and chocolate covered strawberries to celebrate our anniversary.)Very nice. I think I would like a river cruise over an ocean cruise. There are things to see outside the ship, rather than open waters.
Holy crap that would be a long journey!I almost convinced my wife to do the "Loop", but she is terrified of water. Begin Lake Superior in the great lakes in summer, and travel out the St Lawrence to the east coast intercoastal waterways down the eastern seaboard wintering in Southern Florida, then follow the gulf cost to the Mississippi and proceed back north where you started, taking a year to complete the loop.

Damn, I cannot fathom being on a trip that long! And the price, gotta be nuts! One year by boar stopping at ports along the way.
Yes
Timing is critical to avoid northern winters and hurricane season in the southern US,
