For the amount of waiting, driving to that appointment, the return trip after they get the part in, and just the general BS of having to deal with all that, I say @Trigganometry and @AvockAdoo have the right idea.

Contact our good friend Benny @LevittownFordParts.com and he’ll have that part to you quicker than anyone can. He’ll also do whatever he can to give you a break on price or shipping.

Other folks on here have first-hand knowledge on how simple or difficult this swap is - hopefully, they chime in. You could also search tailgate badge install or tailgate logo install to see if you can find out.

Good luck T.C.

Oh yeah, gorgeous black Ranger - btw.

I never cease to be amazed by the damage people manage to do to their own cars.
probably change their own oil too.
All kidding aside, there is a demographic of car owners that think they are better than they actually are.

I think the guy who cleaned that camera was the same guy who cut a hole in the skid plate of my Passat to access the oil drain plug. ?

How about sending a picture to the dealer & ask them to ship you the part? IF your handy, this would be good, no wasting time driving, no wasting gas & doing your part to save on all that extra pollution
ICE vehicles cause. Most important, not wasting money, you will need
all that extra cash to buy beer for your friends to drink while they watch you change the part.

Thank you everyone for all of the advice. I actually was able to pull out the camera in about 5 minutes. I found a dealer that has the part for $60 shipped. Going to just have the dealer credit me back the money or just eat it. It looks like there is some fog inside the lens too so this things been through the ringer. Save myself a dealer trip and wasting my whole day. Thanks again! I'll document the swap for anyone curious.

Did you get ford points on your vehicle purchase? You can see if you do on the phone app. If so dealer can credit your points and it’s free

This is a certified preowned vehicle. I thought you only get them with new purchase, service or Ford CC purchase. I may be mistaken.

Money and time saved unless the camera needs calibration. You might want to back it up until the alert sensor goes off into say a garage door if equipped. Mark the spot and change the camera out. Try it with the replacement installed to see where you land. If no reverse sensors then just check center.

I'll tag onto this thread.
My previous vehicle rarely had issues with visibility from the rear camera. Yes, when it was raining, it will get wet, but dry was find. My new ranger with our rainy, atmospheric rivers seems to get wet and then spotted much more than I'm used to and I'm always cleaning it.
Anyone have an idea how to stop these spots. I have tried rain X, graphene wax, etc.
TIA.

Hello all! The Saga continues. I had a camera overnighted to me for about $60. I put it in and wow clear as day!
One BIG issue. No trajectory or guidelines and the zoom trailer button doesn't work anymore. The setting to enable/disable the lines is also gone from the menu.
Sounds like when replacing hardware you will need a dealer recalibration?

Well, er, I actually did that on a mazda 3 I had a while back. It was just a plastic splash guard. A dremel tool made quick work of that. :)
