Mine sounds a bit like the transporter from Star Trek: The Next Generation…i was not joking about the r2d2 sounds. mine does that as well. anytime im near the truck with the phone thats linked or hit the key buttons etc.
Ha, I never knew what that sound was. I figured it was something but had no idea what it was (lasers priming?).I have to assume you're describing the sound of the high pressure fuel pump priming? It's a mechanical sound that often coincides with opening the door.
@J Krutsch - unlock and lock your truck with your Ford Pass app and stand next to your truck while you do so. You will hear the priming a few seconds before the locking mechanism.
yes it does!Mine sounds a bit like the transporter from Star Trek: The Next Generation…
Will be interesting to see if your sound goes away when you have the brake fluid replaced. Sound is still gone, but truck seems to be running fine. Now about 800 miles into a 3000+ trailer towing trip to Nat'l parks.i was not joking about the r2d2 sounds. mine does that as well. anytime im near the truck with the phone thats linked or hit the key buttons etc.
Brake fluid flush/replace. Service schedule calls for it to be done every 3 yrs.I've noticed this sound since my truck was new. I've discovered, and as others have said, that is the sound of the fuel pump priming. I couple of times, I've experienced turning the key to start the engine and it did not start for like a half second. As worrisome as that seemed, it was because the fuel pump had not primed right before starting. What really has me weirded out though is that I will hear my truck make that sound sometimes when I walk by it and I do not have my key or my phone on me. It MUST be a coincidence but it's almost like the truck knows that I may be getting ready to start it. If I do the remotSere start from the App you can hear it prime everytime right before the truck starts.
It also took me awhile to realize what the sound of the climate control blend door opening and closing was. These trucks are almost completely electronically controlled so they do make some weird noises.
Now, let's talk about the elephant in the room: You got Raped with a capital R on your brake flush or whatever you said it was. I'm sorry to hear that happened. Live and learn.
Sounds like you've gotten some "real help" with your question...Since new, the truck has issued a space ship like zing sound when I first open the door. Last week I had the dealer flush and replace the brake fluid. Upon getting the truck back, it no longer makes this sound. Very odd. I hope it doesn't indicate a problem with something the dealer did. Changing the brake fluid should be a simple process.
If it was time for that service, then fair enough. I'm all for scheduled maintenance. But I can't see how that service has anything to do with the sound of the fuel pump. That sound IS the fuel pump for sure.Brake fluid flush/replace. Service schedule calls for it to be done every 3 yrs.
