Zaino Bros. (starting using in ~2000 with my Camaros/Firebird. Just VERY easy to apply-remove.

Started to dive into some Chemical Bros. stuff very recently.

My old man was a hottrodder who taught himself every aspect of building cars except interior work.

His body and paint work journey was a significant investment in time. We'd visit one weekend and take the '56 to a car show, and the next weekend there'd be a big ole primer spot on it. When I'd ask the answer was always the same, "I saw a little spot at the car show and it was driving me nuts."

The local custom paint supply house that my dad used had the Meguiars guys come out and put on a week long seminar back in the mid 80's. He took an entire week off work to attend and his hotrods never looked better.

I know now it was a marketing gimmick, but it worked for me. After seeing those tan numbered bottles all lined up on the detailing shelf for years I was hooked like a soy boy seeing a tailgate damper for the first time.

I always look for their products now. I generally use their gold class carnuba.

Last year I got on the Turtle Wax bandwagon after seeing a few reviews on their products on YouTube. So far, I'm impressed.
I still have 2 cans of the Turtle Wax hard puck wax. They have to be at least 30 years old. Way to much rubbing to be putting that on with what’s available today.

The waxes and polymers of today far surpass the wax pucks of decades ago. Now they are easier to apply, easier to remove and a lot of them won't turn rubber white. Washing chemicals and methods have come along way also with products like ONR and McKees.

I typically buy Meguire's or Mother's products. I especially like the Tech Wax 2.0 previously mentioned. It has enough abrasives to act like a cleaner wax but it is a synthetic sealant.

I did buy a bottle of 303 Graphene based on a recommendation from this site. I can right over the Tremor Graphics on my truck without causing any discoloration or staining of the fake carbon fiber stripes.

No one can convince me that the added cost of the boutique products are worth it. Last summer I won a 5 gallon wash bucket full of Adams products which I have tried. While they work just fine they are no better than the Meguire's or Mother's products I can pick up at Walmart.

I'm a former "let God wash it" kind of person. My 16 year old Scion was probably washed a half dozen times with a brush attached to the hose and vacuumed out an average of once a year.

But Soupie!?!

Well, after becoming neurotic from being on this forum for six months, I now have a legit pressure washer, extra-long hose, soap cannon (that, I must admit, is fun), several dozen microfiber towels (actually my wife gets most of those and she has those huge 3x4 foot drying ones), and even a pressure washer attachment for doing the undercarriage, all kinds of soaps, detailers, tire grooming crap, and specialty brushes for vents, and so much more!

I reality, my wife uses bunches of products including waterless and rinseless washes, fancy European pump up sprayers, leather conditioners, ...

I seem to only use Mr. Pink for the foam cannon, a half dozen microfibers (half of which I drop on the ground and have to toss in the dirty bucket), Aerospace Protectorant (for tonneau, plastic trim, and tires - although sometimes Kate can't take it and uses real tire dressing on Soupie), and 303 Graphene (body and exterior of windows).

My routine is: pull out liners, vacuum interior, rinse, soap, rub with two-bucket method, rinse, half-ass dry (Kate uses a leaf blower on her car), do the inside of the windows with only water and microfiber, then graphene and aerospace. Takes me about an hour. Kate spends 3 to 5 hours on hers and I took out the LED work lights once last summer for her!

Oh, and sometimes I soap and rinse the BedRug and I've vacuumed it a few times.

I'm sure the neighbors think I'm a tool because once I'm done, I'll sit in the yard with Cheech and a beer (or two, or three) and offer moral support to Kate.

I use Maguiars and Mothers products because they are easy to use, available and affordable everywhere, and the paint and plastic and rubber parts look better than new. Maguiars spray detailer and spray wax are the weekly products. I use the Mothers on the tonneau cover. I try to keep the wheel wells cleaned but in the rainy season it isn't always possible. I follow up with Black Magic tire dressing maybe every 3rd-4th cleaning.

I do the same thing ?. I'll dry it with a microfiber towel or an "Absorber" brand chamois then blow all the water out of the crevasses before I move on to other steps. real helpful with the lug holes.

I met one of the Zaino brothers in 1996 at the F-Body Gathering that year. I thought he was a snake oil salesman but after 30 minutes, I was hooked. I bought Zano for years after that. It was a great product.
